Ting Ho Dung Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Michael B came by to see me yesterday afternoon. We jammed for a bit in my new room and I think I talked him into getting a tube amp of some sort. He was impressed with the low volume (bedroom) tone of my Night Train. After a few beers I propped my wife up in a corner and Michael B and I went to Abuelo's for dinner. Great Mexican food and I love their homemade chips and assorted salsas. Dos XX dark on tap in a big swimming pool too. With a lime. Back at my house I pulled out the big guns with my Heritage H-110. It was instant love and fondling for Michael B. He kept commenting how wonderful the neck is. I haven't played much in the last few months so it felt good to me too. And after Michael B left I played till midnight or so and turned in. The weather has changed here today and we are back to our usual beautiful Spring weather. The early Summer weather for the past several weeks was very oppressing. The wife is FINALLY able to go into work for a few hours every other day or so so I am able to get a few things done here while she's away. Maybe even a nap now that the windows are open again. Thanks Michael B for getting me out last evening. I feel much better today.

velorush Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Great report! Love me some Abuelo's (there's one in Bartlett, a block or so from Guitar Denter).

Ting Ho Dung Posted May 1, 2015 Author Posted May 1, 2015 Looking forward to my next FL visit...except for the Heritage part!Hey, you may see me piss in my pool but you won't see any Heritage here. Maybe some Tequila.
BTMN Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Looking forward to my next FL visit...except for the Heritage part! So when is that next Florida visit?
Michael_B Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 I had a great time. Thanks for the hospitality, Thorn. The Heritage H-110 is a fantastic guitar with a interesting variation of a chunky C. Thorn pointed out that it has an usual taper, tapering thicker and then thinner. Very nice. Both of the Thorn's Heritages that I played were great. I also had a chance to play his "Melon-Cons"- Thorn had to correct my pronunciation- which were outstanding. The VOX Night Train was perfect. I had a lot of fun on it. After also enjoying BTMN's harem of tube amps, I'm finding my self casually checking Craig's List. Still, I love my MIII. I came home from Thorn's and played a little while longer on my MIII and also appreciated that amp's strengths.Maybe the best part was getting to meet Mrs. Thorn- very classy lady welcoming a guy like me into her home. She also was very sweet and polite while declining to let me cut off her cast for her. Thanks, again, for a great time.
Boomerang~Junkie Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 This HFC has THE BEST members. VERY cool act of kindness Michael B.
BTMN Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Sadly both the Crate and the Vox Brian May are solid state. You did not get to play the JCM800 but you might someday soon.

I keep her hidden away.
