tomteriffic Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 I've had some great ones over the years and there are a few I wish I had back. One was the Ibanez CH-9 (I think) chorus. I don't like seasick chorus pedals and this one had a setting that was subtle enough that it was a "you don't know it's on until you turn it off" thing. I have a TC that is great, but much more complex and fiddly. My all-time fave is still the MXR Micro-amp. Serves as a great front of the string buffer, plays very well with acoustic guitars (a big deal for me) and just the ticket to step out a little without messing with anything else. I've had the same one for decades. It's currently replaced on the board by a TC Spark only because that one will also put a little hair on there if you want it and there's only so much space on the board(s).
Sugartune Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Fulltone Fulldrive 2 has been the only constant. I ran two for the longest time, then traded the newer Mosfet version for a Fulltone GT-500 (that I no longer use)
Disturber Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 My favourite pedal is my Korg Pitchblack tuner. But I also like my Catalyst and Fulldrive 1. And the old Phase 90 script logo and 70's Small Stone. My old 70's Electro Harmonix Zipper is a holy grail too, even if I don't use it that much.
velorush Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 That's interesting. I immediately bonded with the Workingman's Blue side of the Fish Factory. Couldn't find a bad tone in it. The Red Snapper side forced me to work with it until I found the sweet spot. Once I did, I was hooked, but I may not have put in the effort had I not liked the blue side so much. Realize, BD, I live in the sticks and have never had the opportunity to try the Workingman's Blue OD, so it very well could be I would prefer it over the Snapper. The thing I've liked so much about the Snapper is how I adaptable it is to those weird variations in tone I get sometimes when I turn on the amp (AC voltage variations? Changes in barometric pressure? Sun spots? Orientation of Schrodinger's cat in the box?) and the differences from guitar to guitar.
Armitage Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 I have the Retro-sonic Phaser, it's great and doesn't tone suck... it just has a bit different bottom to it.
Ethan Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 I don't use a ton of pedals, but the ones that I do like the best are:* TU-2 (except for playing outdoors...)The TU3 will solve all of your outdoor woes!
