Jakeboy Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 This one is different. I was asked for a clip showing the Ultimate clean. This is going straight into a 6g6b Blonde Bassman on 3 with a Strymon Flint providing reverb. https://www.dropbox.com/s/9g0ytva75b5j0mx/Toxic WasteMaster2.mp3?dl=0
Jakeboy Posted August 22, 2016 Author Posted August 22, 2016 Main tone is the middle, neck for the solo, and I switch to the bridge at the end for a few licks.
Jakeboy Posted August 22, 2016 Author Posted August 22, 2016 It really did come across creepster-like.....I was trying to make it sad but the bass line was spooky so creepster it is. I am really a happy person!
Jakeboy Posted August 23, 2016 Author Posted August 23, 2016 My Ultimate LOVES the blonde Bassman....and my Marshall.
Steve Haynie Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 What effect did you use on the bass? It sounds cool. Is that a keyboard or a pedal that makes your guitar sound like a keyboard? Everything about that track is cool, but it could be better with a pro singer.
Jakeboy Posted August 31, 2016 Author Posted August 31, 2016 I put some basic trem on the bass. I read that JPJ did it on the Heartbreaker baseline so I wanted to try it. It fit the song....the organ was also me playing a keyboard and yes, all my tracks suffer in the vocal dept.....so hard to find a good vocalist with the same vision.
soli'd Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 great playing as always, Jakeboy! I love the clean sounds out of my guitar, too.
