baj2k Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 <<<UPDATE>>>: The Studio "Triple Threat" has been sold. <<<UPDATE>>>: The Hamer Newport Pro has been sold. Boy did I take a bath on those two... Stay tuned, I'll have a Hamer '04 (?) Artist Solid Korina with P-90's going up for sale here early next week. I'm taking offers on the Artict Korina now. Pic's provided on request. Thanks, -Barry
Steve Haynie Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Bump... starting to get discouraged... these are some of the finest handbuilt guitars on the planet and I can't sell them for a 40+% loss. I love these guitars but I doubt if I'll ever buy another... How's that for an honest sales pitch... Now taking offers... they gotta be worth something... January is not prime guitar sales season. Your current bids are extremely low. Did you cancel a lot bids or something?
baj2k Posted January 17, 2006 Author Posted January 17, 2006 January is not prime guitar sales season. Your current bids are extremely low. Did you cancel a lot bids or something? Nope. I had what I thought was a fair price minimum. Lot's of watchers, 30+, no bids. Same thing happened last time. I reset the minimum to $1. Hopefully at that price there will be interest.
baj2k Posted January 17, 2006 Author Posted January 17, 2006 Try doing it for a living. I rather sell sand in Suadi Arabia, ground beef in India, or ice at the North Pole... It was a joke... no insults intended... I gotta vent somewhere...
zygleth Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 The guitars are indeed beautiful, don't get discouraged. I have been looking for my next Hamer and would like a Newport but just can't swing that much cash now. That is unless you offer up a blue light special......
John E Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 I agree that post-Christmas is not prime selling season. But I also find that selling guitars depends a lot on just a few of the right people wandering buy. If I hadn't just bought something, for example, I would have been willing to part with some decent coin for the triple threat. It only takes one buyer . . . Have you tried listing it at the Gear Page? Some Hamer fans (and people who are curious) are over there who think that money only comes in multiples of $2,000.

Some Hamer fans (and people who are curious) are over there who think that money only comes in multiples of $2,000. It's on the Gear Page already and I have these guitars listed so many places even I don't remember them all. Kinda like the absent minded squirrel who can find his nuts...
baj2k Posted January 18, 2006 Author Posted January 18, 2006 Wow, up to 50 watchers on ebay now for the Newport Pro. We might even break $1000... Amazing...
HAMERMAN Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 IMHO I think one of the problems with selling new or nearly new Hamer's is that unless the guitar is an exact match to one you would order it can seem like it just makes sense to save up more money and place a custom order. I think the same thing is even more true for Carvin's since they offer such a range of options.

I think the same thing is even more true for Carvin's since they offer such a range of options. I disagree. With >40% instant depreciation "out-of-the box" on a new one it makes far more sense to buy a used one. Hamer's are about as collectible as rocks from Nepal... Collectible meaning: investment in value appreciating over time
baj2k Posted January 18, 2006 Author Posted January 18, 2006 The "TT" has sold... OMG watch for signs as the end of days may be near... If you see four mean looking guys on horseback, I'd run... 51 watchers on the Newport Pro on eBay... so if your riding the fence, now's the time to speak up... I think... p.s. the "TT" went to an HFC'er who wishes to remain anonymous. :(
baj2k Posted January 19, 2006 Author Posted January 19, 2006 Check your mail on the Newport ! I never got your email... please try and PM me here...
