  1. Pretty guitar. But pricey. And what is going on with the bridge? https://reverb.com/item/19769954-1980-hamer-usa-sunburst-natural-bound-crowned-flametop-b-c-vintage
  2. At Lark Street. No price listed yet. Looks clean. http://www.larkstreetmusic.com/list/pict/80hamer.jpg
  3. Thanks for the tip. I'd never heard of them before, but I like this cut, and downloaded several others offa iTunes that sound very promising.
  4. I’m traveling but will be home tonight. Please DM me your email or cellphone and I’ll contact you for details. Thanks.
  5. I'm interested if it's still available. Just respond here or I can give an email address.
  6. What's the neck profile like? Any measurements? And what exactly does the phase switch do?
  7. So what all do you see at the nut? Incompetent nut replacement, with even more incompetent finish touch-up? Anything more fundamental that a competent set-up couldn't set right? Wording of the ad definitely suggests the work was done after leaving the factory the first time. But for what it's worth, the neck doesn't sound that skinny (I've emailed the guy): .81 at the first fret, .875 at the 12th, .937 at the 15th. That sounds fairly standard to me for 1981, maybe a hair skinnier. As an aside, is there anything worse in the world than having a favorite guitar goobered up in a refret? Happened to me once.

  9. Uncle Rick = Hamer Standard (and Hamers generally) Mick Taylor = Ampeg V2 Keith Richards = Les Paul Custom Allison (I think) of the Donnas was the thing that put me over the top in buying an SG special. Her live tone was great through current-production Marshalls.
  10. Tell an ignorant brother what precisely "spalted" refers to. Is it a particular species of maple? Or is it a condition that occurs in various types of species, like flaming?
  11. What kinda music do you play? Are the powertrons basically for that Malcolm Young sound er what?
  12. KORINA eclipse?!?! You got my attention. Now post pix. Was this done for one of the Kamans by any chance? I know he had at least two of them made, one of them a triple-pickup model in TV Yellow (which I almost bought myself).
  13. Jack (?) from Pittsburgh's perpetual quest for a short-scale (?) Chap and his ability to find some minor flaw with every one of the guitars that was offered to him. And his griping about Hamer's refusal to make him a new one, despite the implausibility of actually getting him to part with the Watsonesque money it would have required.
