DaveH Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 That's frustrating as heck, I feel your pain. The less time in transit/warehouses, the better... Not to mention the anxiety of having to wait.

velorush Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 I just reread my Compressors post and realized my comment wasn't particularly useful. What I should have detailed was: they sound somewhere between round and flats and have great string tension (I use the string-through option - the bridge can accommodate either). One thing that helps me is, since I don't play that often, the Compressors are smooth enough they don't eat up my non-callused fingers.
Jakeboy Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 As of this morningbFedEx is treating it as lost or as if the label fell off between Denver and Columbia, MO. They requested pics so I sent them. We will see....I hope it arrives Monday. Columbia, MO's FedEx office is not particularly good. In fact, they are downright lazy. I paid through PayPal so I am not worried...but I don't want a refund, as Pablo said, I want that badass Cruise
Punkavenger Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 Good luck! i know this can be really frustrating ... and scary too, I always envision the bass/guitar arriving with a snapped off head stock. One time I had a $800 m/o get lost in the mail. It was for a vintage Hamer special... 81 i think, unfortunately I had to pass on the guitar because it took several months to finally get my money back. Another time a guitar i bought was lost ... turns out it was leaning up in the corner of the post office and no one saw it. Jeez! You'll love your cruise once it arrives ... I use the NY XL strings on mine ... love those strings, use them now on my guitars as well ...
Jakeboy Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 FedEx is still trying to find her....the seller is engaged with them too.
Jakeboy Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 UPDATE: supposedly on a local truck out for delivery!

Jakeboy Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 Bass arrived packed well. The label bag had gotten ripped off. But they found it and it is here! Thanks for the good vibes, prayers, thoughts, whatever was sent. This Cruisebass is LIGHT, even with the 2-Tek. Has the dings a 22 year old player should. Only issue is an easy one...there is no strap pin on the rear. I'll pick one up today. I will post pics once it is cleaned up and restrung. I need to plug it in now.

I thought your original post was VERY helpful....especially for a bass newb like me.

I still have not bought a bass amp, for example, and I've had this thing for many years (back when I played at church I plugged in direct). There was one thing I did (no wisdom here, just happened to do it...) that seemed to help me the most when I first got it. I put my guitars in their cases for two months and played nothing but bass. I also wanted to learn to play with my fingers instead of a pick, so I put all my picks away during the same period. It forced me to get at least a basic understanding of what to do with it, though if I had it to do over I think it would have been a great idea to take a couple of lessons because I am sure I'm not using very "good" technique.
Jakeboy Posted July 13, 2017 Posted July 13, 2017 I have been recording bass for the last 2 years with the bass 6 and some judicious EQ in my DAW. That's all the Cruise will be used for. I know Inwill. It have classic bassist technique..,at all. But then again, James Jameson famously used only his index finger and Sting only used his thumb (I believe). Osburn and Kaye used picks...and that fact always blows me away. Coming from the bass6, I have plenty of room on the Cruise for using my fingers. i will post a NHD thread later with pics. Thanks everyone.
