Luthier Recommendation in New Jersey

Question

I'm 99% sure that my Talladega requires a new nut and fret work. It has a persistent buzzing on the A and G strings. After having paid for what I thought was a competent set up and getting no satisfaction, I and a knowledgeable friend performed a close examination. The string slots are too deep and there are small grooves in the frets. The action has been set too high in an attempt to mitigate the situation. It's so bad that I don't play this fabulous guitar anymore.

Any recommendations? Thanks.

Where did you take it before?

Bill Baker at Dave's sound repair does great work, but he's often backlogged due to how popular he is.

Oh boy! Last time I was at Dave's I could barely get in the door, so many amps, guitars and stuff in there.  Maybe Broken Mirror is doing some gigs?

Oh yeah! Can't forget about HFC User YEN. He did a great job with a Fret Dress, and setup on my Diablo. He even did a bit of leveling/sanding on the fretboard so it would smoother where a previous owner had been gnawing on it. He did a great job and the turnaround time was fast.

I'd prefer not to announce the luthier's name here. BCR is too far but the recommendation is much appreciated. The Guitar Guy is near my office and my receive a phone call. Thank you, Kiz. Still open to suggestion.....

Another recommendation would be Steve Hayes in Colonia NJ. However, be prepared to wait, as he is VERY popular and always backlogged.

Yesterday I took the Tally back to the fellow that did the original work. We had a discussion and reached an agreement. Very professional and amicable. Will post results.

Billy Penn in Ocean County has a good rep, haven't used him yet though. And David Petillo in Ocean Twp is a true master and really nice guy.
