FatherJones.Com Posted February 25, 2006 Author Posted February 25, 2006 $500 and she's yours - shipped. She rocks by the way -- Phat Cats, Sustain Block, nice.
rmahurin Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 Looks like a Floyd recovery attempt was made; Another victim of the 80's.
black magic Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 Also looks like a refret as it has either Jumbo frets or Low/Wide frets, I believe standard was Medium frets, but anything is possible on frets. I agree, it either had a Floyd or Kahler on it and almost looks as though I see a wire coming from the Sustain Block bridge, maybe an LR Braggs aucustic pickup in the bridge? Jack.
BCR Greg Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 Good price, considering the parts cost alone.FatherJones is a great fella, but don't believe me. God has a reference for him as well.
FatherJones.Com Posted February 25, 2006 Author Posted February 25, 2006 Thanks BCR Greg for the props. Yes, I'm a good guy. Story:I bought this guitar on Ebay for $367. I added veneer over the fill job where a Kahler once was, and added the sustain block on top. A decent luthier told me he could make a fairly seamless repair, but I opted against it. Wanted to see how she'd sound. Original pickups were not in it, so I added the Seymour D. Phat Cats. Grover tuners. Could be the frets were replaced, but the low fatties on their now have some age on them. Look original to me -- but what do I know? Anyway -- this thing plain sounds killer. Warm sound, clear tones no wound strings (single coils advantage there), balls to the wall rock and roll or blues axe. Practically a steal. I'm losing roughly two bills if I sell it for $500 shipped.Whatever, I don't need the guitar, and I'm putting it out there. I will live happily with it forever after if she don't sell. It ain't going on she-Bay.Father Greg Joneswww.fatherjones.com
FatherJones.Com Posted February 25, 2006 Author Posted February 25, 2006 typo: "clear tones ON wound strings" thanks to Phat Cats added wound string clarity.
FatherJones.Com Posted February 25, 2006 Author Posted February 25, 2006 oh -- the little copper wire was once connected to the bridge as some kind of anti buzz grounding effort. it does nothing, and if you ever fix her up pretty you just take it out.
currypowder Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 Was this the one that was on ebay a while back with what looked like a light switch cover covering up the tremelo routing?
Hamer95USA Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 Was this the one that was on ebay a while back with what looked like a light switch cover covering up the tremelo routing? Hey currypowder, Yes, that was the one that had a lightswitch cover. Hopefully someone will buy it and have it fully restored. Guitar George
