specialk Posted February 9, 2022 Posted February 9, 2022 SOLD 1992 HamerUSA Chaparral bass, #229790. Red with an amberburst. A couple of dings but nothing through to the wood. Gold hardware is in good shape except for the G string tuner; mounting screw hole is broken. OHSC in fair shape, lots of miles, and two of the three latches work. $900 plus shipping.
1 bottlerocket Posted February 9, 2022 Posted February 9, 2022 A classic! I saw Sting play one of those in the early 80's at a small pub in London.
HAMERMAN Posted February 9, 2022 Posted February 9, 2022 Lovely! I think that's a Chap Bass. I would absolutely love to have a left handed version of that bass!

1 bottlerocket Posted February 10, 2022 Posted February 10, 2022 I thought it said Cruise Bass...doh!😎

If so, that's a good thing! IIRC, Schaller still makes those tuners (no Hamer on the back, though) if a new one is needed.

Ham Rex Posted March 9, 2022 Posted March 9, 2022 I replaced the tuner, oiled the fretboard, straightened the neck, changed the strings and battery, lowered the action and I really like this bass. It's in great shape needs to be buffed out a little. Seems everyone loved the 82 Cruise but it was sold. This goes well with my 89 gunmetal green and 90 black sparkle 5 string Chaps. Now I just need a Hamer Bass case if anyone has a spare. If I wanted to upgrade replace these pickups any suggestions? The bridge seem weak. Probably better to leave it stock. Thanks, Ham Rex
