PSA - 1988 Californian

I thought the CUSTOM had boomerang inlays and ebony fretboard. Besides the gold hardware, that looks more like a Californian Standard. 

As far as the Paul Hamer thing, who knows, people come up with all kinds of sales pitches.

It would have been a custom ordered Cali Standard then. If I'm not mistaken,  Customs usually were set neck, ebony boards & boomers.

I've had a couple maple body's w/rosewood fretboards and dots..Remember!..Hamer would build damn near anything you wanted.

There was an upgrade to a figured maple body available for most guitars and basses in that era.

So, it was a Cali Standard with figured maple up grade... or a Custom with rosewood and dots downgrade? :P

i got a green maple 1PU same standard. Or 1pu is a custom order already? Btw one of the very first Calis ever produced

One pickup would have been an upcharge (delete neck pickup).
