That’s a good price for anyone local

Tempting.  I have a friend that lives there that I'm sure would pick it up for me.  I used to own one of these, and I kinda regret trading it, although I did get a killer Newport in trade.  I'd better sleep on this one...

I wouldn't wait!  Great price, beautiful guitar... life is too short.  You deserve it!

Agreed!

Those are great guitars. I also regret selling the one I had, but this one just ain't in the cards.

Not for me either.  I just spent the morning spring cleaning, and I need to reduce, not increase, the number of guitar cases lying around my house.  Wait, this one doesn't have a case!

My housemate in St. Louis picked it up for me last night. I'll be back there March 4th (for the inaugural game of St. Louis City SC!) and check it out. I owned an Artist long ago and it was pretty great, so this will be a nice bookend to my '82 Prototype.

Congrats.  Great price on that one.  Enjoy!

Congratulations!  Yes, the Artist is a great guitar model.

Got to St. Louis this week and all's well with the 25th. Nice round "vintage" carve neck, even if as I recall Hamer didn't call them vintage and modern carves for another year. It's not really worth posting pics - every 25th looks like very other one - but I'll remember to snap some tonight. A pretty good selection of smaller chips and scratches along the edge of the body and a few on the top. No bare wood, no cracks. Some fret wear around the cowboy chords. I don't think the truss rod cover had ever been touched. Came in a gig bag the consistency of used underwear - no protection. Was incredibly dirty, tuners were loose (both the buttons and tuners themselves in the headstock), one string missing, the rest of the strings black and dead. Pickup covers so mungy they looked grey.

Why don't people at least wipe a guitar off before selling? Anyway...

Strings off, bridge and tailpiece off, gentle wipe with warm water and a drop of soap, then clean it up with a microfiber cloth. Scrub the fretboard munge off with a kitchen sponge, light lemon oil, wipe. Tighten tuners. Absolutely no corrosion on anything, which is a nice surprise. Put some new .010 to .046s on, tune it up, give the truss rod a pretty good tightening (again good news, it works smoothly) and the neck straightened up to be flat as a Kansas runway. Fiddle with the action, intonation seems good, and I've got a really nice-playing USA Artist on my hands for a grand.

Yes!  Another happy ending... HFC style.
