Carl.B Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 Never seen the year and model name above a serial number before?
cmatthes Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 19 hours ago, Carl.B said: Never seen the year and model name above a serial number before? That was on every Steve Stevens Model. That’s a 1986 SS-1, but people assume those are all from 1984 - when the Steve Stevens Model didn’t yet exist - because of that transfer. That simply denotes the year of the Hamer/SS partnership. In 1984, the Proto SS was still an offering. The Stevens Signature came after.
Jimbilly Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 rare to see one without a headstock (at the nut) repair! Here's my SS1, both my SS1 and SS2 have been repaired for the nut crack, my opinion is that many have been repaired, and it's not really a big deal.
scottcald Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 I had an '87 Ibanez RG 550 that developed a crack just in between the two bolts and never had it fixed and didn't affect anything. It was small and not deep though.
