Am I the only one that thinks all maple guitars all sound like shit.  Bright with a funky mid.  JMHO.

Don't get me wrong.  It's a beautiful guitar.

I have a Hamer Flame Maple Body and glue in Flame Maple Neck, Ebony and Boomers Chaparral with a Sustain bridge and OBL pickups.
It does not sound like shit. Quite the opposite it sounds amazing.
What I think matters in Glue In VS Bolt On. I think most Bolt Ons are very bright.

Have you played a bolt on versus a glue in back to back?
I only have one bolt on which is a Sustainiac Chaparral.
It is bright sounding compared to the other Chaparral with the same pickups, OBLs, rosewood and Floyd Rose bridges.

Again this is just my opinion.

I used to be a believer in tone woods.

Now I am not.

I do think different guitars have different sounds, but I think the variation within one species is bigger than the variation between species.

I think you cannot make sweeping statements about any tone related to any wood. I think you have to try the guitar to know what it's going to sound like.

Just my $.02.

I've owned dozens of examples of all maple guitars.  Set neck v. bolt-on is most certainly a bit different, but I just can't get around the sound.  Not a huge fan of ebony fingerboards either.  And I've purchased all of the examples because they were beautiful.  Some played fantastically.  Just never keep them.

Anyone that gets upset by somebody else's opinion about gear doesn't last lone on any forum.  It's all subjective.  I'm opinionated for sure.  But somebody has to be able to make the all maple guitars work for them.  Just not me.  Kind of like golf balls.  Everyone can tell you the best ball, but there are still hundreds of manufacturers out there!
