rickrock999 Posted June 5, 2023 Posted June 5, 2023 I'm thinking of making on offer on this 93 Scalloped Neck Hamer on Reverb. I am assuming it is a Daytona. I like scalloped necks. I currently have a scalloped Korean Californian where the scalloping was not original It is being sold on consignment so the guy doen't know much about it. I wrote to him and got some answers: He Doesn't know if the Scalloping is original or was done later. Doesn't say if the pickups are original or not. Does anyone know if the possible answers to these questions? Thanks. https://reverb.com/item/69515995-hamer-usa-s-style-w-duncan-rails-scalloped-neck-1993-cobalt-blue
jer_vic Posted June 5, 2023 Posted June 5, 2023 Here's a link to a page from the '92 (can't find '93 specifically) Hamer catalogue that indicates they made a strat-like guitar called the Vintage S prior to the Daytona: https://www.buddlejagarden.co.uk/hamer/92t62.htm Maybe they renamed the Vintage S to the Daytona shortly after that? '94 German catalogue and the '95 catalogue (poke around the link above for more catalogues) show the Daytona model. If you made me guess, I'd say the pickups are not original.

Some home jobs can be brutal.

Totally different models. That’s a ‘93 Daytona with an aftermarket scalloped board.
