FS: FM Cali Elite (Europe)

Hi,

Before i try to sell it on ebay etc, i propose a beautiful flame maple Califorinan Elite.
I've bought it from a HFC member.
The guitar is from 95 and it's in very good condition, in person the guitar is amazing.
I'm asking 1500 euros + shipping. Feel free to pm me for any question or more pictures.
I live in france and i can ship anywhere in Europe, I will make a very solid package so the guitar to travel safely.

It comes in a tired looking but solid Hamer case.

The reason i'm selling it is because i can't get used to the neck,(too big/fat and for me), and i always end up playing my MIK diablo (with her tooth pick neck) or my 94 Hamer Sutdio.

Thx

I had one that looked exactly like that several years back. Maybe the same one? A kick ass guitar!

Hi fretslayer,

Lovely Cali- is the neck much thicker than your '94 Studio?

I could be tempted, but neck profile could be the killer….

Cheers

Hi Dave,

What makes the real difference for me is the width of the fretboard, the Studio have a much narrow fretboard (narrow nut).I prefer narrow necks.

The Cali might be a bit thicker also,

Anyway i can try to take measurements (1st fret/12th fret thickness ,and the width ) with my calipers.

ZR; Yes, i'm aware it's a lot of cash, but i'm not trying to sell it more than i've bought it

Hi Dave,

The Cali might be a bit thicker also,

Looking at the image of the headstock yours look's like one of the one's where the neck is actually wider than the locknut and I know from experience these feel pretty wide, even compared to a Cali where the locknut is snug to the width of the board. I've had a few, may even still have a couple, and I know I struggled with them especially since I spent the late 80's and all the 90's with a pencil Prototype SS.

Funny thing is, I've used my PornPink Nocturne for the past few years and that has an R5 nut (1 3/4" as opposed to a Cali with an R2 1 5/8") and I'd probably now feel quite at home with one of the oversized Cali's now.........I've got Shredmeister to thank for that one !

Edit to say: that I'm not trying to upset any sale here, just stating my experience as I've had quite a few, so many I had to start making them !

Yes, you're right the neck is slightly wider than the locknut, but i've seen bigger gap , for example on ESP M-II's.

1 3/4 at the nut? i could never get used to it!!

I've took time to take measurements with my calipers

*Thicknes : 21mm at 1st fret

22,5 mm at 12th fret

*Width: 43mm at 1st fret

52mm at 12th fret

My 94 Studio have the same results as for thickness ;21mm at 1st fret and 22,5mm(almost 23mm) at 12th fret. The width is 42mm at 1st fret and 51,5mm at 12th fret

About the sale, no problem, if it never sale i won't be unhappy to keep this beauty.

Wow that is a thick neck for a Cali. Mine is the same width at both 1st and 12th frets but 19mm on the 1st and 20.5mm at the 12th.

Wow yours have an Ibanez style neck, 19mm at first fret, now it starts to be thin.

My 90's korean Diablo is like that but the width is small too, under 42mm at the nut
