Is the phrase, "It's a reminder of what's to come," correct?

Well, you can't take them with you.... But you can TRY! 😀

"More than once, yeah?" "I believe so, Danny."

"But he's talking to Danny."
-
Maybe if I were gigging. That would be cool. But now days you have to have permits and the EPA gets involved.

A reminder is from the past. How can it also be from the future? -

The good news is that you will love the Newport. I absolutely love how mine sits in the mix in a few bands I play with -
So, I broke down and agreed to sell the two special DuoTones I still had. That gets me down apparently to just five. Newport with Bigsby Monaco Elite with Lollar P90s Monaco SuperPro....Custom order with korina, Lollar Imperials, F hole. 25th Anniversary Ltd Edition Artist Ultimate (Not counting a cheapie import set up in a faint tilt toward David Gilmour's Strat). Cannot think of too many reasons to cut loose any. Well, I probably will sell the Newport, but looking to do that locally. Hard to believe how many I once had!😉

Or put a smoke generator in there instead?
-
Yeah, I've looked into that. I have the schematic of Peter Frampton's pickup configuration. I may try it especially if the pickup swap improves things. Or, I may just wire it up like a two pickup guitar and disconnect the middle.
-
A (as opposed to the) cool way to wire those is traditional SG wiring for two pickups but with a Master Tone (ala Hamer) and the fourth control as a blender for the middle pickup.

A '77 sunburst from the man himself?

I would if I were 20 minutes away... -

Well, here's my update. The OX-4 chimed it up but it sounds like it may be too hi-fi for this guitar. Not sure just yet. I may add a few pedals in front for more adjusting. After @geoff_hartwell's suggestion of using a '59n I remembered having one from a Studio I never put back in. There's still a hole in the neck position of that guitar ala Phil X. So I thought I'd place that one in the middle position as that tone is pretty much unusable, for me anyway. The middle position on the 3 way selector switch connects the middle pickup and the bridge pickup making a weird tone. In the original '61 those pickups were out of phase according to Uncle Larry. I didn't notice this when I was in the control cavity on this reissue but I wasn't exactly looking for it as it was a bit of a struggle getting the new pickup wire through the tiny holes leading to the cavity. I mentioned the OX-4 chimed the tone up but there is still a mid forward tone to it more so than when it was in a LP, so confirming what those in the videos were saying about comparing LP to SG. So I may end up putting the '59 in the neck and the OX-4 in the middle. I'm also looking at the little wafer caps on the pots. They are .022 but little tiny things. I'm going to reharnes my 335 so will look at those caps as a possible upgrade in the SG.

It'd be one thing if it was like another guy was buying it in store at the same time, but the day before and he didn't know it was gone? Lame. -
2020 Les Paul Standard 50s

Beautiful burst! Love my '19. IMO Gibson really got their act together on these. If you check used prices, this is quite a deal even before upgrades. No way I'd take that for mine.- 1 reply

Thinning the heard and this one is next. This is a great example of a 2020 Les Paul. This one has a one piece body with nicely figured maple cap in Heritage Cherry Sunburst. The following mods have been done. Kiss My Strings zamac tune-o-matic bridge, a very well made bridge out of Germany. Mojotone '59 Clone PAF style pickups that sound great, as well as PIO caps. Original bridge and pickups included in sale. Overall in great shape with some minor signs of play wear, but overall in excellent condition. Includes original case. True LP non-chambered weight of 9.5 lbs. $2000 + shipping from 01060. Obviously if you're somewhat close, I'm happy to meet up in person.
