Young Tim(Hamerhead) can give the backstory on this one. When it arrived at the shop, this is what I found in the case..... Yes, that is a truss rod channel full of bondo, a THICK layer of brushed on paint and a severely broken headstock. Looking closer at the back of the neck, we find.... Why, the neck's nothing BUT bondo! A couple of hours later....... Good God, this thing is worse than I though! If I hadn't found this.... ...I would have trashed it. BUT....it's the 89th Hamer Sunburst made, from 1977. After a long phone conversation with our owner, the decision is made to move forward. Full armor on, kids, this one will be a battle.

You bet yer ass we play 'em. It's kinda depressing that it took me until I was in my 40's to have the kinda disposable income to afford a high quality and/or custom guitar. But when that did happen, I could've ordered any-fucking-thing. I ordered a Hamer. So, thank you, good sir. This... Of all the ones I could have bought - I chose Hamer. I have to admit, playing DavidB's custom FB sealed the deal for me, it played like butter and sounding incredible!!! Now that I cannot order a Hamer, I figured a suitable alternative was ordering one from Jol... It's odd. All this talk of Hamer being dead and buried, but this past Friday I did a little more work on Heid music's Blueburst B-12L. Plus Music Center came in and picked out their woods for 3-4 customs in process. Hmmmm.Bm Anytime you want to take another order, just let me know... I'd order another.

Awesome! Look at that shot with the Hamer headstock with a Marshall cab. Already, two action shots from two recently made axes. Wenge + Checkerboard. All that time , late 90's through a few years back, they wouldn't take an order of the 80's models. Thanks Diablo, Bm I'm a purple fan, love the sparkle.

Well, it's wired up with new Hamer pots.... ..and the original rosewood shim is back under the bridge.... So after making a new truss rod cover, and final assembly, here is the completed guitar....(drum roll)...... The Rio Grande Barbeque and Genuine Texas sound KILLER in this bad boy. I tried to buy it from Tim, but he isn't selling!
