Michael is my friend to this day. He's gone through so much. His first born was killed in a tragic accident. I attended his surviving son's recitals at Stetson University. He was fantastic. I wish he was still here. Kind of like Greg.3 points

There's also been an aging out for a lot of members. This forum has been around for almost 30 years - we were the second gear-related page/message board (The Tele Discussion Page was earlier by a few months). There were people participating a lot here in the 90s and early 2000s that are in their 70s now, and have other things going on besides guitars/music/Hamers. There are a large number of people who were super into Hamers for a few years, and then they movedon to something else. We've seen it all around here...2 points

Yeah, I know you guys are attached to your guitars, but it’s always worth trying, so here we go: I want a Black Standard, preferably from the most recent models. I you have one for sale, please PM me. I live in Florida, in the Fort-Lauderdale area. Thanks in advance! PS: No Floyd or Kahler, please.1 point

Good question. Did he ever get busted for urinating outdoors?1 point

Crowned? Nah, I don’t care. Dot inlays, unbound neck and unbound headstock are okay. Just bound body is preferable to me… though I generally dislike pickguards. Yet, is this baby FS? What year?1 point

Love that top and finish. I have an h150 with Stormy Monday’s. Sunsetburst. Paid $1,350 back in the day.1 point

Facts not in evidence... Vacation is this week. Won't cost that much!1 point

Welp, you’ll most likely have your wife longer than the guitar, so keep it original and take her on a nice vacation when you sell it for big bux.1 point

I've been thinking about having this one refinished by Historic Makeovers. I miss my friend Kim and his right hand man Kenny has told me he can make it "great"...1 point

Back to the topic at hand. Here's a couple of my Steve Hague '59 replicas. Keepers both.1 point

Thorn is legion, his legacy deeply etched into HFC lore. You won’t find his posts, though. They have sailed to the horizon and have fallen off the edge of the flat Earth.1 point

I did a search on weed-addled posts and Thorn. Zero results. What is this debauchery I'm missing? Weed-addled is something I need to explore.1 point

It’s the weed addled posts I miss the most. Btw. I did move on to Gibson (three Murphy Labs that I love) Nash, Rock N Roll Relics and parts builds… and a Dean time capsule that I get to look at every day. still a soft spot for hamer (artist and eclipse). If you can get em for a good deal and they aren’t abused… they’re as good a value as anything. Wish I grabbed that M3 dirt cheap at Dave’s this week.1 point

Yeah, you should have been here during "the drama" years in the mid 2000's. 😅 The place has not been the same since it got cleaned up. Still just as fun to hang here though. And lots of knowledge. Not just about Hamer guitars, but guitars and music in general. There are regular posters who disappeared that I miss. But some come back, like @Feynman and others that were away for a while. I used to visit several guitar message boards but these days this is the only one I visit regularly. I think maybe the three (or more?) Hamer groups on Facebook has taken over some of the action. But those are not as fun as this place.1 point

Hardly. Some have gone to the great message board in the sky. Others have been permanently banned. Still others have actual lives and have moved on from posting on an internet message board for 30-odd years. I admire the latter most of all.1 point

Don't let that stop you. If we all followed that reasoning, there would be a total of about 15 threads on this forum.1 point
