  1. I met Yngwie Malmsteen at a record signing back in the day. I don't remember being all flustered though he was predictably arrogant and dismissive...towards everybody. I probably woulda been starstruck around Page, Via, EVH, Petrucci or pretty much any of my guitar gods. These days? Not so much. Sure, I'd have questions but starstruck? Nah.
  2. Dude, A Jetsetter like you??? You have it all and then some. LOL. While I have no room to complain about my situation in life, I am far from a jetsetter and well shy of having it all and then some.
  3. Happy birthday, Greg! Now get back to work!
  4. I was just umm, admiring this chick's video earlier tonight. It's been around for while. Wish I was still young enough to even have a girlfriend like that...
  5. Wow. Tough crowd. I've used several of those, including but not limited to: "up for grabs", "minty", and "selling for a friend" because, well, I WAS selling it for friend who was not a member on a particular forum. Probably use them again at some point.
  6. Point taken, but I'd liken Hamer more to the Packard or the Pierce Arrow for first-rate materials, meticulous build quality and attention to detail. /\ this. Though, my personal experience and knowledge are a little weak on those two particular autos. I agree that Hamer was (and is) better than the Pontiac counterpart.
  7. I dunno... but try as they might, those snazzy Fenders just don't measure up, in my book.
  8. Just holding back on purchasing a new/used guitar for one whole year would be a HUGE milestone accomplishment for me. Pretty sad, really.
  9. This is NOT gonna be fun or easy... I'm already cruising the 'Bay for guitars I don't even get along with... Ohhh lawdy, lawdy...
  10. Not a very uplifting assumption about girls, rugby... Read it again. - Austin Yeah, I get the analogy and the specifics. Weak-willed women.

  12. That's essentially what I was counting on. The guitars are already bought but I'm refin/reconfig-ing them.
  13. Hmm. Okay, if this doesn't apply to orders already made, I'm game. My wife will be thrilled.
  14. PIF for good luck in the new year. You da man, Thorn!
  15. If he doesn't want it, yeah, I'll take it! Awesome. PM me the cost & postage, along with your paypal account is and I'll send it to ya.
  16. I agree with mirrorimij & coolfeel. I bought only one green USA Diablo new (back in the 90's) and from that point on, it was all used Hamers. 17 altogether, 7 of which I still own. The pile of cash I'm dropping on the custom Cali came about because Hamer opened up the vaults and I had a little more disposable income. I didn't pull the trigger because I felt any pressure or even knew about the doors closing; I just was excited about being able to have a shiny, new Cali made to my specs. Color me slow on the uptake, but had I realized the gravity of Hamer's future, I would've put in orders for other customs. Not that it would've changed the outcome. Hamer is gone.
  17. If they did this, I'd put in at least another order or two... not that I can currently afford it but with a 1+ year build time, I'm sure I could manage to acquire the funds before delivery.
  18. F*ck FMIC and their lawyers. There are numerous ways to get that logo on the Blitz. Dan Lawrence did a brilliant job keeping the original logo on my Python Cali. I'm reasonably certain he said he just masked it out during painting. If Dan can do that, I would imagine Mike Learn can do the same. I was merely trying to make it easier for Mike, with the decal or water transfer.
  19. Yup. It's plastic. If I can't locate an existing one. I'll have one made.
  20. Need a back (trem cavity) cover & a truss rod cover for my Blitz. Black is preferred but any color will do as I can get them painted if need be. Also looking to buy black 6-in-line tuners, Hamer stamped would be outta f-ing sight. Otherwise, Schallers or Grovers will work nicely. Lastly, since she is definitely gonna get new paint, I'm looking for Hamer stadium logo wet transfer or vinyl decal.
  21. Sig line worthy right there.
  22. I'd be hard pressed to name one legendary player that doesn't already have their own endorsement or own line of guitars. As has been discussed previously, if a guitar builder wants to stay afloat, they need to reach both established markets as well as develop new ones. In light of the diminishing contribution electric guitar seems to have in modern music, the latter seems as difficult as the previous.
  23. Guess this is a pitfall of a our little tight-knit, family-like forum here ( if I may be so bold as to include myself in ): Much of what we do and say is in support of each other and perhaps a certain expectation arises, as a result, wherein one's good fortune(s) as they relate to guitars, are to be shared. Then there's the "keeping it in the family" angle, which we've all read many times over. It's a theory, prolly not a good one. But it might explain why feelings might be a tad affected around here.
