that is not just a "metal" plate. It's a solid sterling silver backplate AND truss cover. And, YES, it tarnishes so you need to polish it just like the candlestick holders.

2009 is upon us. This is the 10 year anniversary of the guitar that started it all for me (Hamer style). The 25th anniversary guitar was one hell of a cool guitar. I believe it transitioned HamerUSA into their next great era. The 25th gave way to the 25th LIMITED and then 5 years later.. 30th Anniversary. I never drank the koolaid. Okay, you've OBSESSED over gorgeous guitars your whole playing life. Now, you've bought/are considering buying a RELIC. How do you even start to explain that to anyone outside the guitar world (dupes like us), why you'de spend big money for a trashed looking product? I'm talking spouse and kids for starts. just friggin say NO. that was easy. The thing I hated about being in a band is the fuggin' schedule ruling your life; especially a year in advance I said no. Then they called about rescheduling to help them out blah blah blah..... and I figured I had a gig the night before and the drive would suck with lack of sleep and it would open up my birthday the week before instead of a gig yada yada yada... Unfortunately, I said yes when he asked and then he actually followed through. I tried to undo it but it's too late. I screwed up. Too much pressure. gaw, quit making excuses. You sound like a girl. get your ass to the 4 3 2 1 then and we'll think you're actually genuine. as in not a poser

I'm not on FEDEX team here by any means, but. If you pack a guitar right, which is how most of use don't, pretty hard to break them. I'll be the first to admit I should pack better. Can't blame a shipper for shock damage, only if the box is mangled.
