Well, you certainly have great amps. The Deluxe reverb clone should sound great with it as far as clarity, unless you really have it cranked. I had a '62 reissuethat i put 57's in, and it sounded great. I also had a 2010 Standard with a set of Duncan 59's that sounded really good. Now I'm using my P90 SG's all the time and playing my Hamer 25th anniversary for my mahogany humbucker sounds. I also switched to 9's after years of playing 10's because my 66 year old hands are tired. That actually had a pleasing effect on my clean tone. I have a '68 Drip Edge Deluxe Reverb, and a killer 70's Princeton. The both sounded great with all my SG's. Good luck on the quest!

Agree 100%! The '83 show with Snowy was probably the best rock show that I ever saw. Scott was on a stool with a broken leg. I was jammed against the stage right in front of him, and just to the side of Phil. Unreal memory. Agora Ballroom in Atlanta. Chinatown Tour I believe..

Saw Lizzy live many times. Scott always delivered! He could hang with anyone on the stage with him. Great player, great tone. A true rock guitarist!

Have you played with the individual pole pieces, Saul? Raising and lowering the whole pickup can help, but pole piece adjustment can make a big difference. Try lowering the pickup and raising the pole pieces, then tilt the treble side up a bit. BTW, what strings and amp are you playing it through?

Shane is the real deal... I have lots of great guitars and gear, but my mantra is, "I can suck equally on anything".... If i spent half as much time practicing as I do screwing around on the internet forums and screwing around with my gear, I'd still suck! So, that's why I love having the toys!! 😉

Richrath was one of the finest rock guitar players ever. I was lucky yo see him a few times in his heyday. What a beast! Great tone, great playing, and great guitars! The early stuff still blows me away! ENJOY..

I've seen those vids, and know a few people that knew him well. He seemed like a tortured genius from what they told me. But they all agreed he was a really good soul with other worldly talent.

Yep! I used to see him at The Harvest Moon Saloon on Piedmont when he would do that. Great guy.

I have often wondered how we never met. I used to own a store in Tucker called Too Many Guitars. I'm pretty much retired, but I still help my old buddies with repairs, mostly set ups, electronics and such. Bob is a monster player, Glenn taught him how to play. I put together the white Strat that Bob plays. The one with the Tele pickup in the bridge, and the humbucker in the neck. Great guitar!. Shawn Lane was unreal. I wish I had been able to see him. RIP. BTW, I'm loving the 25th Anniversary Hamer that you traded to GC.
