  1. Did you ever think of trying one of the cheap Ibanez Artcore Guitars? For under $300, you can get a decent guitar. Sure it's made in China, but they're pretty good. If you really like them you could alway get new pickups. This is an older picture, but I think you can see it.
  2. I heard (saw) Springsteen and went out a bought a Tele (same color back in 1981 or 1982). Of course I realize that Springsteen's "tone" is nothing to write home about, but I wanted to be him. (still do)
  3. I like both. I don't really prefer one over the other. If I had to choose, I'd choose ebony. So in order: 1)ebony 2) rosewood 3) maple IMO
  4. I'm a Boogie man too. MkIV My DC-3 combo and my Mesa bass cabs. Here's a Nomad 45 combo (no longer have) on top of my Marshall cab Lonestar Special Head (no longer have), w/ my Nash Tele My Mark IV is the ultimate amp IMHO.
  5. There's a no smoking ban here in NJ too. Though I don't gig, I'm grateful that there is a ban. I'm a non smoker. I've never smoked. There's nothing worse than going out to a club or a restaurant and having your clothes stink like smoke. Not to mention second hand smoke isn't good for your health either. IMO, if there's a drop off in business, it's just the economy.
  6. The seller, Beyond Custom Guitars, makes paints some fabulous guitars. They're on my watch list.
  7. unfucking believable! that's the problem with ebay. My high bidder didn't pay yet for the Cali he won. I'm still waiting on him.
  8. Dean Cadillac
  9. Yes, I mistyped the serial number for the Phantom. It's 412112 I'm still thinking about what to do with these guitars. I'll keep ya posted. I want to thank everyone, once again, for all their help!
  10. So if I pull the pickguard there SHOULD be a space for a single coil pickup if it's a Phantom GT or no space? I'm confused. Is there a link that someone knows that I could find out more info about Phantoms?
  11. the backplate for the control cavity is long and thin like a hot dog. I can't believe I forgot to take a pic of the back.
  12. I did not purchase these....yet. I saw these Hamers at a crummy little store. I happened to have my camera with me and they said it was ok to take some pix. Can somebody please tell me what they are and what you think they may me worth? The first one is a pretty cool bass. The kid in the store said it's a Chaperal Cruise Quilted Maple Top bass. Serial number is 128102. It looks like a neck thru. It's in really good shape except for the headstock where it was hanging in the store. It looks like it may have an ebony fretboard. There seems to be some slight cracks in the fretboard, possibly from drying out and cracking. It doesn't effect the playability, but they're there. Here's a quick pic The next one is in rougher shape. The kid didn't know the name of this one. I'm embarrassed to say I don't either. This one too have marks on the headstock where it was hanging. Plus a whole lot of other dings and a few scratches. The serial number is 142112. Here's a quick pic Here's a link to a whole bunch more pics. Any help would be greatly appreciated photobucket link for hamers
  13. Poe, what made you decide to pick the Road King over the Roadster? Actually, what the hell's the difference between the two? I should probably ask this over at the Boogie board but you guys are pretty knowledgable here.
  14. Wow, with all this craziness about the Cali, I'm gonna have to list my Orange Sparkle bolt-on on ebay tonight! Can you blame me?
  15. Thanks Guys Happy birthday to everyone else too today
  16. Yummy Grape!
  17. I forgot about Carvin. I think that this would be good for you. It's a pretty decent guitar too! Good thinking Hamerman
