  1. Gotcha. I know those are the original pickups. I used to own the guitar. DaveL here sold it to me, and I sold it back to him., and I believe he sold it on eBay. Killer piece!
  2. Whoever routed those cavities should have their nuts routed... That pickup code is "N J" not M J. The N means "neck" and the J means "Juarez." It was wound by Maricella Juarez and made after 1983. Maricella later worked with Seymour in the Antiquity room.
  3. It was developed with/for George Lynch who was using ebony board and solid maple bodied ESP guitars exclusively at the time... And get the Trembucker version. This might help to: http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/audio-samples/humbuckers_and/

  5. I think Queen should've done what Journey did by finding a replacement that sounds identical... He's certainly out there ready and waiting for the opportunity.

  7. It's a stock custom order as stated by the seller. That setup provides WAY more stability than any TOM/stop setup.

  10. The Mirage I was clearly Hamer's answer to the PRS craze at the time with the set-neck, longer scale length, non-locking tremelo, shallow headstock angle, and locking tuners. And in typical Hamer style they took it a step further with the Tom Anderson inspired electronics (3 pups & super groovy blower switch), a super slick (and $$) scalloped neck joint, and topped it all off with beautiful looking and sounding koa. One of my top 3 favorite and most functional/useful Hamer models ever.
  11. I had read that it was to simulate the treble roll off that occurs with long cable runs... IIRC, Carlos wanted it when he switched from long cables to wireless. I read this on the inter-web some time ago so who knows what is correct. Ahhh, that's it! I had it backwards. Thanks for clarifying that.
  12. I remember PRS saying that was the purpose of the sweet switch on the early PRS guitars to help combat signal loss over long cable runs.
  13. ....And as for that other band called Nirvana that he was in.... Even a bigger YAWN!!! Never got that and never will. "Nevermind" was a very appropriate name for that album because I never did...
  14. I will sum it up by saying "Billboard artists during the '80s, across all genres, are substantially superior to Billboard artists today."
  15. Foo Fighters = big yawn..... Don't get it at all. Their songs are very one dimensional to me. Nothing memorable at all. A perfect testament to the state of the extremely boring music industry today.
  16. + 2, except I would highly recommend lightly gluing the block to the wall of the body, since you're going to continue using the tremelo. http://www.sweetwater.com/expert-center/techtips/d--12/12/2005
  17. What brand/model guitar is it?
  18. THE GOOD = Intro, drum set, EVH Wolfgang bass, Dave's pants, lyrics, Eddie's solo. THE BAD = Bass player looks like the drawing/giveaway winner to be in a VH video. THE UGLY = Eddie and Mini Me's attire.
  19. As are you, Kiz. Glad you like it.
  20. I was very happy to hand over # 94 to Steve as I could tell the guitar is going to be very appreciated, and he was a pleasure to deal with. Enjoy! Frank
  21. The Duncan Screamin' Demon would be perfect...
