  1. Can't wait to see that one! Same plan as before? Not sure if you're revealing the specs. I remember what you wanted a while back thinking exactly that...EPIC!
  2. Does an HFC'er own my personal favorite "Red Molly"? Edited to add that I have to agree that the Punisher is most righteous as well. I have seen it talked about on many other forums.
  3. When I click on the link and hit play on" Hamer Standard" the play button flashes a couple times, but nothing happens...am I doing something wrong? I know that it doesn't work well on iPads, mobile devices. Better on laptops, desktops. I was using a laptop. Do I need to wait for it to load? I usually have to do that with videos. I'll try it again tonight at home. Can't watch or listen at work to see if it will work on my desktop.

  5. Kicking off the demo with "Innocent" on a guitar that looks anything but innocent! Is it just me, or are you rocking harder on that guitar than on your other demos? Something about those Standards unleashes something inside. Let us know what pups you go with...I'm still waiting to drop new pups in my Standard.
  6. I want Kevin Bower's Standard.
  7. 1. The most shredderiffic Standard evah! Floyd. Reverse Headstock. Ebony Board Bound & Crowned (I'll probably have to custom order it) 2. RED MOLLY 3. Blue Standard 4. Black Standard 5. Some type of Flame Cali Seriously guys...PM me if you have any of these and are ready to let them go.
  8. That's awesome of you Brent! I have the day off from work to finish X-mas shopping and I live an hour away, otherwise I would try to meet you for lunch or something. Hope you have a great time. Can't wait to see some pics.
  9. Sledhead: I love snowmobiling. 44: My circle track number on my racecar.
  10. +1 What they said. Pretty good bang for the buck in the Blackstar. I own the head and run it thru a closed back 1x12 and have been able to get most any tone I want out of it. Recommended earlier to me right here on HFC. I have it. I love it.
  11. Hey Brooks, Glad to see you back and posting on the board! Make that idiot driver pay and use it for a custom order guitar and a new bike! Dan
  12. Here's to a speedy recovery Brooks!!! Dan
  13. Department store brand is usually made of recycled oil and / or made to lower standards, even if made by a large national brand. If you want to save some money buy a Auto Parts store brand. I found that some of the NAPA products are EXACTLY the same as the Valvoline packaged product. That's what I use in my race car and I have never had a problem.
  14. I'm curious, what did they say at the store when you asked them to actually test drive a few at higher volume--or wouldn't they let you? Don't they have the facilities to let anyone really TRY an amp, or are they just selling expensive furniture? I'd recommend trying a few at the volumes you're looking at before throwing cash down. You might change your mind. Their resident sales shredder said I might like a VOX VT-100 or an Orange something or other, but they did not have any of those, so he plugged into a Line6 amp to show me how cool it was (or he was). And never offered for me to check it out. I felt that he was just pushing that amp at me probably to get his spiff. I left and bought a barely used VOX VT-100 for less than half of what they wanted for a new one. This was about 6-8 months ago. I just still think about having something else everyday and if what I have is the best out there. Yep! I'd like to hear the truth about tramps too!
  15. I just play for a hobby, but I really want a big tube amp. Maybe some people want these just for the looks, but I really am searching for a particular tone. A salesperson at my local music store made me feel pretty dumb about wanting a 1/2 stack and said I would blow out my windows, and that it would be not in my best interest to purchase one because a big tube amp has a sweet spot that I would not be able to reach at indoor levels. I have a VOX VT100 and it has a power knob on it that works well for me, I just wanted to try out some different equipment to see if it will give me the tone I want. What amps I'm possibly looking at to compare to find my tone: Marshall (duh) Mesa /Boogie Rectifier Crate Blue Voodoo Peavy 5150 / 6505 And all variant model numbers of the above Here is what I really want to know: 1. Is there such a thing as a "sweet spot" on a big tube amp that I won't be able to attain because the volume would be too high inside my house? 2. If #1 is correct....can't I just get an attenuator? Or would that ruin the tone? 3. What do you recommend for 80's hair metal? 4. Would I need an assortment of pedals or a Multi Effects Processor? I just have a Digitech RP200 now. I really need some honest advice. Give it to me straight guys, I can take it.
  16. Even before I saw the List of Mfg's I was thinking BC Rich. I just sold my Beast...it kept poking me in all the wrong places. Now I'm Gassing for a Gunslinger.
  17. Kick Ass! Congrats and Good Luck!
  18. Hey Punkavenger, Not really sure if this fits the bill, but I have been listening to Savatage lately. Although they are not like Pantera or Slayer or "Heavy Heavy Heavy" they are a little like Iron Maiden, very melodic. Also I really like Suicidal Tendencies "How will I laugh" album. Some harder stuff try Biohazzard and Sepultura
  19. Guys, My Fiance went with her sister and grandmother to the Smuckers Stars on Ice Ice Skating show last night in Grand Rapids, MI and she was trying to describe the guitar they used in the show because she knows I love guitars. I looked it up today and guess what!!! http://www.starsonice.com/figure-skating/?content=media Edit: Sorry, I thought it would go straight to the guitar pic. Go to pictures 11-15 for Black Hamer Talledega.
