  1. +1 except for the tone control only affects the neck pup
  2. If I can get decent seats, I'm going.
  3. I really love these guitars but I'd rather not have a chambered version - they dont seem to work well for the high gain stuff I'm perpetually doing. Unfortunately I'm probably out on this one.
  4. Dave Chappelle made that skit funny...insert any other player and it would still be funny. The megaphone bit at the end still kills me.
  5. "I've had X number of this particular model and this one plays/sounds the best"
  6. Yep...that's a Charvel 3B. Killer bass. I bought one of the first ones from across the pond in 1986; sadly I traded it for a bag of coke. Yours has the newer pup selector. Congrats.
  7. In my line of work (industrial measurement) we see small companies bought up all the time by the big players like Honeywell, GE & Siemens. In almost every case these 3 things happen: Manufacturing moves Distribution changes Oldtimers are replaced by lesser paid workers What makes Hamer so special is Jol Danzig & the people currently building our guitars. Eventually they will be gone. Another thing about Hamer I love are some of the dealers. I spent an hour with BCRGreg today discussing what is possibly my last Hamer custom order (it's gonna be freaking KILLER btw). I cant see myself having that kind of dialogue with someone at Guitar Center, Sam Ash, Charley's Guitars, ad nauseum. Someone suggested Hamer might be reduced to making specials like a $10000 checkerboard Standard. What a great way to make an extra $7000 on a guitar. Non-musician doctors, attorneys and investors rejoice! Didnt Fender just release a second version of the SRV strat at unattainable prices? Super-premium (relative to Fender's output) guitars with a link to the past sounds like a way to keep a low volume shop operating in the black. I wish the best for Jol & crew; and the mom & pop dealers during this transition.
  8. Hey Austin thanks for the offer but I'm trying to replace my relic'd pieces
  9. Does anyone know where to get Hamer bridge saddles for the floyd rose trem?
  10. Everything is peachy now...my VISA was credited, the status of the guitar is unknown. GAS has passed so I'm gonna pass. In hindsight that was probably not such a smart purchase since I have no way to record my craptastic playing at the moment. Guitars are so much sexier than computers even if it's a Mac. Big money like that needs to go into Hamers...not Ernie Ball products
  11. In their defense the credit just posted to my account. It's apparently no longer my guitar LOL. Mods please delete this thread.
  12. I'm not going to mention names...I dont think they play here anyway. On 8/24 I put a $2700 new guitar on HOLD. That next Monday 8/27 I completed the transaction and asked them to ship the instrument to me UPS Next Day Air. To make the not so long story short another guy bought a T-shirt...this dealer shipped my guitar to this fellow and the t-shirt to me, UPS Red (they mixed up the shipping labels). They still dont have the instrument back and I get no feedback from them as to what's going on. I called this morning and still no info. I've been charged in full for the instrument and this clock is ticking on my grace period. Is this guitar still considered new? It was shipped to someone else Ground freight and has been bouncing around the UPS system for a week. Eventually if I decide to complete the transaction it will get to bounce further in the UPS system. At this point I have no emotional attachment to this guitar to TBH I really need a new music computer.
  13. Forsaken off the new Dream Theater disc...it's been stuck in my head for a couple weeks now. It's okay but not worthy of this level of mental masturbation.
  14. I hope I'm never without my Hamers but I dont have that much loyality to Hamer to only play their guitars. There are other guitars I love equally including a Gibson, PRS, Anderson, Suhr and even a few Ibanez J Customs.
  15. After all that "research" you didnt know locking trems used 3mm wrenches? Sounds like a bit of sarcasm here. They don't all use 3mm wrenches. Nothing I had fit. Fact is its a Kahler Steeler floating trem from the 90's. The wrench sizes are different and you need a separate wrench for the bridge and a different size wrench for the nut. Sarcasm indeed...the Kahler also uses 3mm on the bridge.
  16. Trying to sort thru the mess in Molly's control cavity and installing pickups in other guitars too. If I can find the time to practice then it's sweep picking. My brain & fingers aren't connecting with this technique.
