  1. Forgive the delayed update - I've been in Japan for the past two weeks. Congrats to Austin.
  2. Bubs' Soldano ad is getting too much attention.
  3. Your warbly cassette sounds huge.
  4. Look at those pythons!
  5. And again, this is just a perfect custom order. Gorch, you appear to have all of the suitable gear to bring out the best in this gutiar, so I think you should keep it. Zorrow's gonna' run it through a Pignose simulator or something ridiculous.
  6. I know I've already weighed in with my praise, but I'd like to add that this is one of the coolest custom orders I have ever seen. Zorrow, you got everything just right. I'm officially envious, and I don't even like Vs.
  7. Looks like a nice guitar at a fine price. The refret wouldn't bother me. Things that do bug me: - Gold hardware - "Click to see pics" (it's amazing how asking me to click will often just back me right out of a thread) - Gold hardware - Turn off the **** flash. We want to see the guitar - Gold hardware
  8. I love that 612. If you're going to lose, lose big. Good job.
  9. I've fought off my "good archtop" longings for a long time now. Newports and Monacos have held that at bay, but it's always there, latent perhaps. I remind myself that I don't sound very good on even the stuff I have, and a five-digit-archtop won't be changing that.
  10. My most expensive classical guitar cost me $12K, but those are sort of another world. I don't have any expensive classicals anymore. These days I have convinced myself that $1500 used will always acquire something really nice, and that seems to work for me. Most electrics I've purchased hang in around $1200. The '68RI Les Paul Custom was $2K, which I think is the most I've paid for an electric. Today I'm at a $1500 instrument.
  11. Technically I think I should still be in this, but I will mark myself out anyway. For the record, all I did was buy a guitar, so I'm not sure that should count.
  12. Do you mean for their art, or for other reasons, or does it matter?

  14. This nightmare just keeps getting worse.
  15. ----- Five down! Edited to add: Nice, Lockbody! I was referring more to the guys like, say, velorush.
  16. Nah, there's a bunch of filler guys who were never going to buy a guitar anyway. We afflicted ones know who we are though. The list is up to date back on page 1. -
  17. I dunno - it seems like they sit forever when someone offers one for $800. $600 without a case, while good, doesn't shock me. Then again, I may have developed a bad attitude over this ridiculous 2013 Challenge.
  18. Veatch is safe (per Kizanski's Rule). Turdus, I think we'll need more info. Veatch was a pure middleman/enabler, something highly encouraged around here. It seems to me that Turdus bought a bass for himself to help his friend out. A short time later, he moved it on to someone else. Do I have that right? These are very important matters to consider, and Kizanski will likely need more data before his next ruling.
  19. Good job! You have inspired me, Turdus. Enrollment is over....the challenge has begun. Good luck to everyone.
  20. Wrap your stuff up....time is running out! You two in or not? --> savethematchesmontelovesco
