It's been my experience that the "older" JMP 2203, as pictured above, sound better slammed with your overdrive of choice vs. a JCM 800 2203,( a little more low end and not as thin on top). I currently run a Keeley modded BOSS SD-1 in front of my '78 JMP and think it sounds better than the Soldano SLP 100 I used to own. As always, opinions may vary. BTW Jack, I've tried a Metal Zone with my set-up and it pulled off the "Slayer" thing quite well; which is probobally what you're after. -Bobby
