RacerX Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 Hi gang, Reluctantly up for grabs is my Hardwood (inbuya) and cane Mesa Boogie Studio.22+. This is the best of the series, the "+" adds the lead channel master control which makes the channel switching feature of this amp actually useable live. It also has the EQ which is footswitchable as well. All the options on this one folks. These are one of Mesa's best, lots of gain, and a great warm clean too. PLENTY loud to gig with. This amp is super clean, no smoke or funky smells, ready for you living room. $1250/shipped ups ground in the cont us. Includes both footswitches, cover, xtra 12ax7 and el84 tubes, and manual. Expensive, but probably the best one of these you will find. I also have a matching (actually a bit darker) Imbuya/cane Boogie Thiele extension cab available with your choice- blackshadow 80 (Celestion) or the original megawatt EV. These add BIG time thump. The bottom is $750/shipped but I won't sell this cab alone, I'd rather keep it. These are near Chicago. Any questions feel free... Thanks! Mark.
raymund Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 Would immediately jump on it, but have already my Boogie Studio 22 in hardwood. I bought this amp in 1984 and never switched to any other. Somebody will be very happy with this Boogie.
silentman Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 Been looking for a EV equipped theile. That one's too pretty for me though. Best cabs in the world.
cmatthes Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 I have that exact amp in Blonde/Cane that was custom-ordered by a friend in '89. I got it in '90, and it is a great amp and one of the few Boogies with which I've been able to bond. Fantastic AND LOUD!!!The only reason I got the one I have is because he upgraded to the wood cab option. Really good stuff - nice Fendery cleans too. That, and the fact that I was tired of hauling a '69 Twin Reverb up and down the narrow staircase in my apartment at the time!
Brooks Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 these are great amps. sold my carr rambler when i got mine.
Steve Haynie Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 I love my Boogie Studio .22. Mine is cream tolex. I had an open back extension cab and sold it. I wish I had that back. I have a black Thiele cab to go with the combo, but I wish the tolex and grill cloth matched. On the hardwood pair offered here I could live with a slight color difference since they are so beautiful.
rmahurin Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 Bought my Studio 22 new in 1987. It might be up for auction on eBay sometime after my funeral.
cmatthes Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 These are great amps, people! Wonder why they aren't more raved about?
RacerX Posted May 10, 2006 Author Posted May 10, 2006 Thanks for the kind words guys, these really are under rated. And it's living room friendly! I've had a coulpe nibbles but she's still here. Chris, you should upgrade like your buddy Mark.
RacerX Posted May 27, 2006 Author Posted May 27, 2006 Well, it looks like the deal I had on this has gone cold. This thing is really cool, and I even found a Mesa box to ship it in. Someone here must have a living room spot just waiting for this puppy! Mark.
Lockbody Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 Man... If I thought I could flip my Mk IV fast enough I would be all over this (I'm not playing out so much anymore and the MK IV is kinda overkill... and a pain to lug up and down out of the basement ). Then I could sell both of my tolex Thieles and get your.... Oh... I gotta stop, now.
