topekatj Posted November 17, 2025 Posted November 17, 2025 (edited) Seems like a solid deal, what’s to not like? I love the gig bag. https://reverb.com/item/92712244-1990-greco-fv-650-flying-v-vintage-guitar-black-japan-fujigen Edited November 17, 2025 by topekatj boo boo 3 Quote
Jimbilly Posted November 17, 2025 Posted November 17, 2025 the indonesian washburn Paul Stanley V I have has a nylon gig back shaped like that, - now I've seen two V shaped soft cases 1 Quote
velorush Posted November 17, 2025 Posted November 17, 2025 Mike & Mike's is one of the few vendors I follow because they list the weight and neck specs on pretty much every guitar. They list tons of interesting Japanese market instruments along with the usual domestic fare. Quote
Dave Scepter Posted November 17, 2025 Posted November 17, 2025 You might want to check with the seller as a lot of these came with super narrow nut widths... unless you like that sort of thing 🤷♂️ 2 Quote

I had a similar Greco V that a small width. Had to move it on. 1 1 Quote
DarkHammer Posted November 17, 2025 Posted November 17, 2025 (edited) If you are after that 1970s Flying V look why not consider this latest FV 70s model from Epiphone? Neck will be thicker than on Greco, ebony fretboard, it also has that distinct short rounded head and volute. Finish options include Silverburst or Tobacco Sunburst. Comes in a gig bag. It's a GC exclusive limiter run. There are some positive reviews on YouTube, Epiphone nailed it. I've got one and it's really an awesome guitar. GC currently offers them on sale for $550 with free shipping. https://www.guitarcenter.com/Epiphone/Flying-V-70s-Guitar-Center-Exclusive-Electric-Guitar-Silver-Burst-1500000436842.gc https://www.guitarcenter.com/Epiphone/Flying-V-70s-Guitar-Center-Exclusive-Electric-Guitar-Tobacco-Sunburst-1500000436840.gc Reviews: Edited November 17, 2025 by DarkHammer 2 Quote
topekatj Posted November 17, 2025 Author Posted November 17, 2025 (edited) @velorush agreed RE M&M including the neck dimensions and weight in their listings, outta be a law. @Dave Scepter thanks, I saw the 1 5/8” nut width in the listing. The rest of the neck dimensions look promising on paper: Shape: Medium C, measuring .860” 1st fret, .970” 12th fret, but it would probably be too narrow for my preference. @RobB What’s the neck like on your Greco MS? Edited November 17, 2025 by topekatj Too few o’s in ‘too’, actually one too few for the spelling with two o’s 2 Quote

I’ll have to check to be sure. Hard to deny the value of that Epi. I’m pretty picky about ‘bursts, though. Edited November 17, 2025 by RobB Quote
topekatj Posted November 17, 2025 Author Posted November 17, 2025 Surprised I didn’t watch that Trogly review sooner. He wishes that the Epi V had a narrower neck! I’d have to say I thought both pickups sounded a bit dark, but it’s unbelievable to me that they’re putting an ebony FB on the Epi (and you could only get Richlite on a Gibson during, what, 2012?). 1 Quote

Didn't know they were on sale. Four monthly interest free payments of $137.25 with PayPal may make me pull the trigger. I had a guitar sell-off earlier this year and sold my Gibson Faded Flying V. Really miss it. Thanks for posting. 3 Quote
