Biz Prof Posted March 22 Posted March 22 I've posted it here many times: I still love Iron Maiden's first seven albums. They started losing me with Fear of the Dark, and at some point over the last twenty years, it seems that most of their songs have morphed into dirges with long, slow intros and outros that sound like soccer stadium chants. When Martin Birch retired, i feel like the band lost its edge. IMHO, Kevin Shirley has done virtually nothing to restore that edge. Of course they're selling out stadiums on tour, so they must be doing something right. 1 Quote

Saul Goodman Posted March 22 Posted March 22 Seventh Son of a Seventh Son was an inspirational album for me. 2 Quote

Me: “Oi, Bruce! That’s some-kinda-vocal-or-other on the Tull tune.” Bruce: “Ta, mate! I have a falsetto voice.” Me: “Is that right? My grandad has a false-setta teeth.” Edited March 23 by RobB 4 Quote

ZR Posted March 23 Posted March 23 My first Maiden album was Number ... after seeing them play at a Day on the Green in Oakland a long time ago. Then bought the first two albums and I made it through Powerslave and enjoyed it all, even Rhyme otam ! Not sure why but didn't follow them after for some reason 1 Quote
