HamerHokie Posted April 15 Posted April 15 NUX - first the transmitter died, and they replaced it under warranty. Then the receiver died, and when I submitted a request to replace...they ghosted me. So I decided to go with the tried and true brand... BOSS - when it works, it works great. But often it will sputter, rendering it useless. I'd say it sputters about 50% of the time, which led me to purchase... XVive - It had worked flawlessly since I got it last June, but it stopped working last weekend. Sounds like an open circuit in the receiver. My bass player let me borrow his to A-B test and his worked fine. XVive initially they'll send me another but they aren't returning my emails after sending them the documentation, and there's no stateside customer support. Assuming XVive lets me down as well, what do you suggest I try next? Quote
BoogieMKIIA Posted April 15 Posted April 15 I have one of these, my second. It’s a plastic case that you have to watch out for a little. I glued this one back together and it’s still working. Sounds good and rarely has reception issues. Else, spend big bucks for a Sure or Sennheiser system. It’s on Amazon. LucSulla Posted April 15 Posted April 15 (edited) https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/GLXD16p--shure-glxd16-digital-wireless-guitar-pedal-system Bought that back in November. 15-20 shows later and no issues. Battery life is absurdly long. Edited April 15 by LucSulla 2 Quote
velorush Posted April 15 Posted April 15 Shure - spendy but fairly bullet-proof performance. We run six channels at church. We're extremely rural, so we're still able to get away with the older SLX line. Encroaching consumer technology has made SLX all but useless in cities. We had one (ten years old) receiver go down last month so we opted for the newer QLXD line to hopefully futureproof the system. We plan on replacing each channel with the newer tech as they go belly-up, but four of the remaining five are more than fifteen years old. One channel, receiver / transmitter pack was just over $1,100. That's pretty pricey, but they really do last. Quote

RobB Posted April 16 Posted April 16 Boss units work better when all phone WiFis are disabled (routers, too, if possible). I use the WL50 at home. It works fine, but I don’t think I’d gig with it. It’s temping to purchase one of the myriad, low-rent wireless systems out there. They usually work but most almost always break. Cheaping-out on w/l will bone you in the long run. Better to spend the bux for a quality system. The GLXD16 gets my best-bang vote. 1 Quote
geoff_hartwell Posted April 21 Posted April 21 Make sure you don’t have your phone in your pocket. First thing that causes interference with cheaper transmitters. And don’t leave it on your amp lol Shure and Sennheiser are the most reliable in all scenarios. The pedal size Shure would be my go to. 2 Quote
BoogieMKIIA Posted April 27 Posted April 27 Have you figured out what to get? I tried my cheap Guitaria at Friday night’s gig. The plastic housing at the 1/4” plug came apart and it was dangling the last songs of the first set. Thankfully it kept working and I swapped to a real cable. Have re-glued it and will use it for the weekly jam and not on gigs. That Sure looks nice. Quote

I've been using the Boss unit the past four gigs and it worked great through three of them. Quote
