hamerhead Posted May 7 Posted May 7 A buddy wants to try one and I'm just curious. Will it fit a Daytona? Quote
scottcald Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Never tried the Vega-Trem, but it should fit since it has the slotted mounting holes. If interested, I have a Super Vee that's been in a drawer waiting for something, though it briefly lived on a partscaster and worked decently. Just the bridge and arm, nothing else. 3 Quote
hamerhead Posted May 7 Author Posted May 7 Thanks but his brain is set on the Vega-Trem and there's no changing it. F***in' guitar players. 4 Quote
Jakeboy Posted May 8 Posted May 8 Those Vegas are supposed to be the absolute shit! People rave about them. Let us know what you think when you get to try it out. 3 Quote
Whoismarykelly Posted Monday at 07:36 PM Posted Monday at 07:36 PM The Vega trem is really spectacular. I have them in two Mirages and they have incredibly smooth feel and great tuning stability. Install is pretty painless as long as you have the proper version for the trem you are replacing (4 screw or 2 post). I need to go into my guitars with a sanding block to relieve the cavity a bit for more up pull but in a stock trem cavity they have great range. https://imgur.com/a/iZVKKIQ 4 1 Quote

It's the suffix (or lack thereof) on all the posted links that is the problem. Your link is https://imgur.com/a/iZVKKIQ - that is a link to a page. What you (and everyone having the same problem) need is a link that ends with a suffix, typically .jpg, .jpeg or .png. I clicked your link which led to the photo being displayed in a browser window. I then right clicked the picture and chose "copy image link." The resulting link was "https://i.imgur.com/P9zQAJ1.jpg" Pasting that into the comment window leads the board software to retrieve and display the image rather than the link. Hope this helps. 3 Quote

I thought about the Vega when I upgraded my Mirages. Ended up going with the Mann vintage trem. It’s a fantastic option and big upgrade over the stock Wilkinson unit, which I still have on my Mirage Maple top. Maybe I’ll try the Vega on the maple top and see how it compares to the Mann bridge… 🤔 1 Quote
velorush Posted Tuesday at 04:12 PM Posted Tuesday at 04:12 PM (edited) Wondering if this would be a good replacement for this trem. It's not terrible, but it has some sort of sympathetic vibration going on with several notes. It's not audible through an amp, but I think that has to be detrimental to overall performance. It's a Mexican two-post that floats. Very tempted to plug the holes and install a spare Callaham vintage bridge I have in the parts bin. Does Vega make a two-post replacement, as well? ETA: did a bit of Googling. Yes, they do make a two-point replacement. But this led to a different question. This appears to be comprised of a plate mounted to the guitar body and pivot point(s) that move against that plate. Wait! Where have I seen that before. Oh, yes... Seriously? This is a reimagining of the Sustain Block Trem? Edited Tuesday at 04:19 PM by velorush Quote

The PRS/Mann style setup where you have a tiny bit of up pull is too limiting for how I want to use the trem. Big plus is the Mirage geometry lets you keep the saddles low and really get the nice light feel out of the arm. 2 Quote

They come with different threaded sleeve inserts if you have to adapt bushing sizes. 1 Quote

We both agreed that it sounded dull compared to the Strat-style bridge he had on before, and he ended up swapping that back in. 1 1 Quote
