PittJitsu Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 Hello everyone. I'm Pitt,, a Long time player, and not really a big Internet chat guy. Well my story goes something like this. I was the original owner of both a Steve Stevens 1 & 2 both bought brand new from my NJ SAM Ash music store back in the day. A while back during this holiday season, I had the SS2 in my car because I had picked it up from a fret re-dressing. I had stops to make in Manhattan, where my car was broken into and my camera, and Precious Ax where both absconded. I figured if anybody had a lead on a replacement, it would be you guys. So far I cant find one on the scary Ebay. This year so far there has been one SS2 for sale, and I got home too late to bid on it, my usual luck. I will take any color anyone has anywhere in the world. I'm really at a loss without this guitar in my arsenal, and I'm eager to find one.. I have never been without her, so you understand my angst. *sniffles* IF anyone has one they are willing to part with, or you have a lead on one, please contact me through this thing. scratches and bad paint are expected with these guitars, my only no no is repairs, no headstock repairs, or anything major like that. All others are welcome to join my lonley SS1. Even better, if anyone sees a minty green SS2 in the tri state area, I will offer a reward just for the info on who's in possession of my beloved ax. and no, im not counting on it, its just a fantasy. thanks, and In My Opinion, your all playing, collecting, and conversing about the best playing guitars There are! I dont say this with restricted knowledge, I have one of every shredding guitar in the top ten, Gibson, fender, Kramer, PRS, San dimas, ESP, Peavey, Jackson, and a guild, none top my "twins". thanks, all. Pitt
Jeff R Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 Sorry to hear of your loss, that sucks. If I lost my favorite, my "unofficial" SSIII (Centaura 2HB), I'd need therapy. You said you aren't a big Internet nut, but drop in here frequently because the "for sale" area is a pretty active place, for Hamers AND a bunch of the other brands that you mentioned you like.Good luck with your search!
black magic Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 First, if you find your guitar that would rock!! Second, if you find the guitar and the douchebag, blow his fu!@#ing head off!! Good luck bro-Jack.
Imiss85 Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 You should also check out the Gear Page. You never know, you may get lucky tracking down yours.
BTMN Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 Got any closeup photos and the serial number of your SS2? Lotta folks here from that area. Who knows might get lucky here. Good luck and Welcome.
seeker Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 Do you happen to have the serial #? If so you might want to post the first few digits to see if it's in the same neighborhood.I'd also check out the Hamrony-Central Classifieds.
formula73 Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 I've been through that, and man, I feel for you. It sucks soooo bad...I'd definately rather have broken a leg or something. At least that'll heal.
Disturber Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 I totally feel your loss. I had to leave my guitar in the trunk of the car last weekendfor an hour. I was nervous the whole time. The SS II is one of the finest Floyd equippedguitars ever made in my book. It has gottone by the book. I hardly belive it's a Floyd on it at times it sounds so full.Your bad luck is I had mine for sale just about up untila week or two back. Luckily neither of the twothat where offered the guitar managed to go through with the deal. And then I had such sellers remorse.... I sold off some other gear in the meantime, and I get the next sallary on Wednesday thisweek so my finances are sorted now. No need to sell itanymore and I basically decided yesterday, after playingit for over two hours, that I must keep it. Or I will regretfor ever that I sold it.
PittJitsu Posted May 22, 2006 Author Posted May 22, 2006 Hey thanks for all the nice words and welcomes. MR disturber, if you EVER have the urge, And I mean Ever! Please Find me. I used to sell some things on Ebay and I would see some on there once in a while. Sometimes more then one. Now Its bone dry bone dry. Why? there seems to be no shortage of other stuff, I love my Kramer's also, and I see them bursting at the seams with quantity. Like everything else, when your looking, you will find nothing. I'm a single guy, and a mess, but I will hunt around and see if I can find the serial, its doubtfully. Oh well, I will keep looking here, and of coarse, read your stories as well. some are very interesting. The jokes and snaps on each other are funny too.
