eightyfour Posted April 4, 2005 Posted April 4, 2005 I've played my share of amps, and very few have ever matched the fun factor of this little jem. We've been recording over the last number of weeks and experimenting with this amp has been really exciting. It's a '66 Thunderbolt with 1 15" original Jensen, powered by 6L6's. It's not mine (on loan from our tech), but it sure has been a pleasure toying around with.
tafkathundernotes Posted April 4, 2005 Posted April 4, 2005 Those are really nice. I rebuilt one for a friend of mine a few years ago. Very well made.
hamerhead Posted April 4, 2005 Posted April 4, 2005 Mine was around the block a few times before I got it.... ...but it still sounds killer.
Mr Fuzzy Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 My Supro Tremoverb. Like a champ with cheesey Reverb and Tremelo, 10" Jensen.
Monacosis Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 Apparently Bruce Zinky bought the Supro name and will be producing new amps this year. This one is Zach Vex's. GAS inducing!! No functional website that I am aware of, but it is rumored to be http://suprousa.com. mike
BCR Greg Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 A wheeled road case for a 15 lb amp is just plain stupid.
Steve Haynie Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 Part of the magic of the Supro amps is the non-boutique of the old amps. I would really like a Thunderbolt. That flight case might be on a prototype used for selling the line.
HamerHokie Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 Was the Thunderbolt the model Page used to record Led Zep I?
