I'm selling my Baker B1. This was originally designed by and built for Matte Henderson and there are is no other Baker out there like it.

Here are the specs:

*Serial# 360

*24.625" scale length

*Buzz Feiten system

*Old Growth Honduras Mahogany back(1.75")

*Old Growth Honduras Mahogany neck(10/56 neck profile)

*0.5" thick carved 1-piece Curly Eastern Maple top

*Hide glue used exclusively

*Nitrocelluose Lacquer

*Old Growth Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard

*Celluloid Trapezoid Inlays

*6105 frets

*Aged body and neck binding

*Tortoise side dots

*Holly Veneer headstock overlay

*Matte Henderson Straight string-pull headstock (Gene Baker now uses this headstock in his B3 line of guitars)

*Jason Lollar P90's in the neck and middle positions

*Peter Florence Voodoo 59 bridge pickup

*Chrome Sperzel locking tuners

*Fully-Floating Point Tremelo bridge

*Strat control layout with V/T/T(bridge PU)

As you can see from the specs, this guitar is constructed like a vintage Les Paul, but it's designed to be far more versatile.

Here are some pictures . You can see more here.

As you can see, this guitar has been played and is lightly reliced as a result (don't worry I won't charge you extra for it :P). However, the neck is in excellent shape (no dings, scratches, dents, etc) and the frets have only light wear.

Included with the guitar are the original documentation, trem bar, and hardshell case.

This Baker was originally built with a Gibson Alnico P90 neck pickup. I still have that pickup and will include it with the guitar if the buyer wants it. I'm looking for $3500 shipped with the Alnico P90 and $3300 shipped without. I would prefer Money Order or Cashier's Check, but will accept PayPal if the buyer pays for the fees. I'm not looking for any trades at this time, but don't let that stop you from offering me something you think I might like. Thanks for looking and feel free to PM me or email me at atquinn1975@yahoo.com if you have any questions.

I love those mineral streaks. Great!

Yeah, it's definitely slick looking. Too bad I'm such a lousy photographer.

Bump for Austin, with a pic of my '56 near mint Custom(Grovers added) that I foolishly sold many years ago. The Alnico neck pickup was the shizz. Get the Alnico and put it back in the Baker.

Somebody has ONE HELLUVA Custom out there...

Thansk for the bump Greg. In other news, I might be contacting you about a project in the somewhat near future. Get your router warmed up!

I had the opportunity to learn to build a guitar with Baker when I was in high school. But one person ruined it for the rest of us.

Drop more knowledge, less innuendo.

Hmm, Greg, could have been mine, except mine had one gold PAF, in the bridge, and an alnico neck. Bit of an odd fish and I'm pretty sure it was original. There's two awesome Customs out there. And I liked the Anico neck picup better than the PAF....

Baker was talked into doing some kind of apprenticeship thing when I was in high school. I only know two who did it: this kid named Brian and one of my teachers. My teacher had worked for Ernie Ball in his college years, so he got to work for Baker and build his own guitar there. Brian was just supposed to help build his guitar and work it off as well. Not only did he do everything wrong to the point of making the guys at the shop take his guitar away, but he managed to light his pants on fire.

Yeah, I don't know if other manufacturers reject wood like that for tops because it's not pretty enough or what, but I think it looks really cool. Gives the guitar more personality than the typical perfect flame or quilt top (although I like those too ).

Man, a "Brian" F's it up for ALL of us at one time or another!

I haven't uttered the words, "It's not for sale" in a very long time. I got real with myself a long time ago and realized that there isn't a thing that I own that I wouldn't sell, were I offered the right price.

Let's just say it would take an awful lot to get me to part with that one.
