Matt Mattson Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Some people like the soft pack, others like kool-aid in the soft refreshing morning dew lazily dream, dream, dreaming away....Damn that's erotic! Didn't Johnny Horton write a song about that?
MCChris Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Did you delete my post? You just dropped it in the wrong place. This is the only board I know of where most of the controversy seems to be started by the admins.Explain.
AdmiralB Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 LOL! Well, I've been away for a long time. Seems like most of the agitators from dayes of olde have either left or been banished. The last time I looked in (maybe nine months ago? Maybe longer) Alpep (can I say that?) was banned, you couldn't even type his name. You couldn't mention any other brand but Hamer on the main page - Robin/Gibson/Dean/whatever was OC stuff. All admin decisions.Seems like now the *only* agitation is from acts of moderation, however innocent or well-intentioned they may be. I said this is the only board I read where this is true. The other boards I read are The Guitar Diner and the Weber boards, occasionally TGP. The comparison stands.

Despite what happened with the Dean thread and the ju-jitsu thread, things have changed. And the "you couldn't even type his name" comment is utterly without validity. I spend a lot of time here and that was never the case. Period. You should read TGP more often. The admins there damn near caused a revolt with what they did to the Emporiums.I know what this is ..... the annual Pre-Open House Flare-Up! Right on schedule too! Uncanny how it happens even when there isn't an Open House!
LordOfTheThighs Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 I know what this is ..... the annual Pre-Open House Flare-Up! Right on schedule too! Uncanny how it happens even when there isn't an Open House! BINGOLOL!
tonyvieira Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 When the moon hits your eye Like a big pizza pie That's amore. When an eel bites your hand And that's not what you planned That's a moray. When our habits are strange <---HFC content! And our customs deranged That's our mores. When your horse munches straw And the bales total four That's some more hay. When Othello's poor wife She gets stabbed with a knife That's a Moor, eh? When a Japanese knight Used a sword in a fight That's Samurai. Atsa my kind of humor
darc Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 If you're going to move my threads I would like to have some guidelines and not have it done on a whim while other non music related threads and postings remain, or just leave them alone. Why take this so seriously? Don't you have access to both forums? I think it's kind of ironic that this thread isn't OC. P.S. Alpep Alpep Alpep Alpep Alpep Alpep Alpep Alpep. And Robin's are sweet!
MCChris Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Why take this so seriously? Don't you have access to both forums? +1. It's nothing to get unhinged about.
pesocaster Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Ya know..... I used to hang around here a lot more .... ha ha ha Hey, I think the kid content on the main page is cool.... Hell.. some of these guys have practically become part of my family...
BTMN Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 What is allowed on the main board?1. Most of all being a nice guy. 2. Complimenting other's guitars even if you might not like that style of guitar but can appreciate a good build. 3. Saying Hoppy Birdy when it isn't someone you know at all.4. Extending an invite to someone coming to your area.5. Posting great guitar photos to induce G.A.S. in your fellow guitar addicts. That's a good Top 5 I try to go by.
blackfbiv Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Your friendly neighbourhood BTMN has got it... Dion
Guest pirateflynn Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Why take this so seriously? Don't you have access to both forums? +1. It's nothing to get unhinged about. Who's unhinged? Not everybody has access to the OC including members under 18yrs. So far, it's seems to be a case of try your thread and see if it lasts on the Main board. So, that's what I'll continue to do......twice a year I will Post a thread about my Kids JJ Tourney and maybe it will be moved, maybe it won't.I think it would be agreed that I have followed all of BTMN Top 5 suggestions. While I haven't had a chance to invite anyone over I have met a few guys/gals and extented good will to most folks.Anyway, it would be cooler if some occassional family topics stayed.
MCChris Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Who's unhinged?I was taking a shot at darc.Anyway, it would be cooler if some occassional family topics stayed.I don't have a problem with that. As far as I'm concerned that's how it'll be from here on out. We'll deal with any "slippery slope" situations as they arise.
darc Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Who's unhinged? I was taking a shot at darc.I'm an easy target like that. And nobody ever wishes me a Happy Birthday around here, either.Alpep Alpep. Ha!
kurtsstuff Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 I could give a damn about whats allowed or not as most of what I post is bullshit anyways and give give a flying fuck as to whether my post's are allowed in the Main,OC, or FS section...Who frickin cares??? umm wait.....is this allowed here??....hehe...umm...moderator's??? please move this to where it belongs and I'll find it and continue my rant in the right place...

cmatthes Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Agreed 100%. Do you guys have any idea how hard it is to keep everybody happy around this place?! As MCC said, we'll proceed.
Artie Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 And nobody ever wishes me a Happy Birthday around here, either. I don't know you.Hoppy Birdy!(You have one this year, eh?)Artie

I spend a lot of time here and that was never the case. Period.(snip)Actually, the situation was that when you typed a certain individual's name, the board software changed the character string to 'he who shall not be named'. I thought it was juvenile then, and I still think it was juvenile now. High school antics. Your memory is faulty, McChris. It did happen, and quite a few other people commented on it as well. I spent quite a bit of time on the phone speaking with one of the other mods about it - ask him. Water under the bridge at this point, but it was the case. Period.I like BTMN's guide to posting. Reasonable enough.

Matt Mattson Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 They are better. I see Al can (and does) post now, and nobody is picking on that poor defensless sot Greg. So far so good. Let's work to keep it that way as best we can.
