sirDaniel Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 I played both those standards. Those prices are WAYYYY too low. The fact that they are still there baffles me. Maybe if Matt took paypal.... (hides under desk)
Armitage Posted April 17, 2005 Posted April 17, 2005 Two questions; 1) Are these still available? 2) And why?
sirDaniel Posted April 17, 2005 Posted April 17, 2005 the only "why" in me mind would be the (7) stipulations....Otherwise they'de have all "poofed" a long time ago.
bruce919 Posted April 18, 2005 Author Posted April 18, 2005 The only one left is the #1 Mahogany Standard. I guess there are just too many cool guitars for sale right now. In time it will sell.I have had many backout over the Postal Money order thing also. I guess I don't understand that one. There only about a buck at your local post office.
sirDaniel Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 a bump for ya. I DONT want to start a paypal thread, but I found that alot of people either have a little pile of money stashed in their paypal, or they can whip out their credit card on a whim. It's a much more "purposeful" venture to withdraw a bucket of cash from one place and make a trip to the post office. Okay, paypal not for you. How about a personal check? They take (1) day to clear now. 2 at the most. Nary a reason not to take those babies anymore...IMPULSE BUYING!!! ever heard of QVC? you MUST feed the IMPULSE BUYER.
stobro Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 I found out recently that my local post office doesn't do money orders. I have to drive an additional 20 minutes to the next town where they have a "full service" post office. On the other hand, my bank has at least three local branches where I can get free cashier's checks.
bruce919 Posted April 18, 2005 Author Posted April 18, 2005 I have been burned by Paypal so I will never use paypal again.I will take bank money orders from HFC members who have been a around a few years & make regular post.
Armitage Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 I like the protection using my card gives me. When I mail a money order to another guy across country, or in another country, I have almost no recorse without a ton of work.To each their own.I also had a problem with PayPal, but my Credit Card company kicked their ass.

serial Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 $850 is VERY sweet. Sux to be broke. Fortunately, I have a mahogany Standard and those are among the best Hamers I've owned. That '71 LP sounds very nice too. I'd be willing to toss a few things at that, since I've got the Les Paul Jones!
sonicblue1960 Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 Hey BruceMattt-I'll trade ya a '82 FM plus some $$$ for the std. The 82 is coolRick727.343.8487

rmahurin Posted May 16, 2005 Posted May 16, 2005 Hey Matt!! Ed Roman has Schons,.. http://edroman.com/guitar/home_sch.htm God help me I've always had a lust for these too. He mentions Grover Jackson, but that doesn't necessarily mean these are Jackson-made. Buyer beware.
serial Posted May 16, 2005 Posted May 16, 2005 They might be ED ROMAN made. He had a ton of old Schon bodies and necks and combos of the two for sale a few years back. I'm just sayin'...
