jginsj Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 I am the TLE King because I love these guitars and I snatch them up whenever they come along (although that is very, very seldom). I've been through most of the Hamers...old Specials, Daytonas, T51's, Studio Customs, Steve Stevens...I'm extremely partial to sustain block Hamers and I do like the skinny necks, but that's just me, we all have our preferences. After owning all of those Hamers, the only ones I'm left with are one old Special, my featherweight T51, and about 5 of these TLE's (I told you I was TLE crazy). The TLE is, in my opinion (and it's only my opinion), Hamer's finest. All the best stuff from the good 'ol days, mahogony with thin maple cap, sustain block, set neck, short scale 24 fret with the most incredible "scale" feel of any short scale guitar (it feels long in you hands, like you can comfortably stretch out even though it plays like the short scale guitar that it is, for some reason Specials feel "cramped" when I'm holding them even though they are the same scale), S/S/H configuration (my favorite) and really fast, stressed-maple necks.I could post pics but it really depends on what you're interested in...I have the flamed amber ones as well as a flamed sunburst one, and I even have an amber one with a Kahler on it, so if you're interested, let me know which kind and I can shoot you pics.As far as price, make me an offer, but you really have to want a TLE because I pay top dollar for these guitars so they're not super cheap. Value is in the eye of the beholder and they are worth a lot to me. I'm only considering selling one or two of these because I want to raise some quick cash for a motorcycle opportunity that's in front of me (my other passion). I hope I didn't imply that I was going to try to make money on these 'cause I'm not, I'm just saying that every time I find a TLE I don't haggle over it, I just pay the $$ and pick it up because that's how much I like them.
