just had a look at the original ebay offer. it was offered in usa and sold to a usa member.

that is for sure not a real auction.

it was sold on 24may for usd 5.298,--. of course someone pay it and have it shipped, customs checked and deliverd home within a week, and post it on ebay.co.uk with only one f.... photo.

those idiots are really nerving.

it has been in the family since 1982 - maybe the are brothers?

here the original offer from tzoby, florida

This is a very rare Hamer standard It has been in the family since 1982 My research shows that is Made 9/7/79 with a serial number 0219 It was made with a sustain block Im told there aren't more than a very small hand full with that bridge. They guessed no more than 4 or 5. Since there were only 400-450 or so original Standards to begin with. The guitar looks incredible & plays PERFECT. The case has a little wear.. I hate to loose it but its time to thin out the collection. Rick Neilson of Cheap Trick helped to make this style guitar famous.

Shipping in USA $40 with insurance. I will ship international; please write to get a shipping quote.

here the current offer from chrisweekes3d4, uk

I'm pretty sure that's my old standard. If it's the same guitar, the headstock was snapped in 1980 and repaired at the Hamer factory. It also had the original jack removed and the hole enlarged to accomodate an L.P. style jack and plate.

I guess its possible that there were two black sustainblock standards made in 1979, but, at the time, Frank U. told me mine was the first. I traded it in '81 or '82, so the timing works. I also noticed that the "real" seller was evasive in answering questions about condition in his ebay listing.

I live 20 minutes from the May seller but never got in contact with him to see it in person.

Agreed, but even though he posted a bogus auction and is trying to rip someone off, at least he didn't describe it as "mint" or "pristine."

Gotta give him that.

...and I tried to warn you all yesterday...
