BCR Greg Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 http://www.gibson.com/Products/GibsonElect...America%20Tour/Damn, this is funny.
Feynman Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 Cliff from Cheers? How many necks were in that pile? Some Les Pauls do turn me on, though.
atquinn Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 Steve Earle's looking rather slim. Good for him!-Austin
Steve Haynie Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 Of course that video makes me want to buy a Gibson. A fun video would be a documentary on how much volume Gibson does and how many guitars have little flaws.

Steve Haynie Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 I wonder if the 2 that gets stamped on the back of the "seconds" headstocks is done by hand or machine?Either way it will be off center.
tgoss Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 I like the "Guitar Of The Week" ES-335 series of videos with Chuck Berry arguing with Keith Richards about the sound of his amplifer.
belgian Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 Why are all those workers so happy, and the ones on the Hamer tour so serious ?
cmatthes Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 I was at the PRS factory a week or so ago. They're cranking out 65 guitars a day (minimum). Gibson is more than 2Xs their size, probably closer to 3-4 times, spacewise. Not sure what production/output is there, but still very impressive.
luiss Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 Do you feel the guys are not so focused on details on the guitar(fast work)?I have seen and of course proudly own Hamer DVD courtesy of Alpep and I see a slower timing.....
Steve Haynie Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 Hamer charges for the slower timing. Also, the Hamer guys are going for perfection instead of having to move on to the next piece to make the daily output. If the people at Gibson look like they are smiling, it is because they are supposed to look that way in the promotional video.
