BCR Greg Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 Medical bills being what they are(relentless), I am thinning the herd. First up is my personal BCR Junior, the guitar that created a sensation for Hamer. For years, I begged Hamer to make me a Junior, so that I could have a great stage guitar that would take a beating and keep me from risking my 50's Gibson Juniors. In 2000, Hamer was still willing to do cool runs of guitars, and they agreed to make a short run of TV Juniors to my specs. All 6 were from the same light weight board of Mahogany, and they had vintage style 3 on a plate tuners(that I supplied) on a correct thickness headstock, chunky necks, and a not-quite-correct-but-close TV finish. I sold them all in an instant, and we ordered 6 more in Cherry and 4 more in Vintage Orange. Hamer ended up making the guitar a model based on my ability to sell them, but they used Korina (that was rather heavy on some) and used the regular headstock and Grovers or those horrible Schaller Keystone tuners. Rick Nielsen has had Juniors made, and Tom Dumont claims that his Junior is his favorite Hamer. My BCR Junior has seen a lot of stage time, and has some significant upgrades. The bridge is an actual 50's Gibson Wraparound, the studs are prototype TonePros Steel locking Studs. The nut is Corian, I had a bone nut on it but changed it out. The pickup is a custom Rio Grande P-90 made just for the guitar and I cut the pickguard from some actual 1950's Gibson pickguard material. I removed the stupid 151 output jack and put on a regular Switchcraft jack on a replica 50's jackplate. The little furry bit beside the jack is for my wireless bug, I will remove that. Schaller straplocks are on as well. The finish has darkened a little bit from exposure to sun and nicotine. It's got minimal wear, I never pounded it. It rings like the dinner bell at Rosie O'Donnell's house. It lives in a BCR Checkerboard case. Therein lies the rub. It doesn't get used anymore. I bought a wrecked 59 TV Junior that I put back together, and that has become the banger Junior, in order to save the BCR Junior. Bizarre turn of events, eh? So here it is... The price is a firm $2k, with the checker case and all the upgrades. No trades, I have enough guitars. For a penny less, I'll keep it. Many members here have played this guitar, and they can attest to it's quality. greg at bcrmusic dot com
princeofdarkness56 Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 Sorry to hear about the medical bills. I hope things turn around for the better. The guitar is damn near perfect. If only I was a rich man. Good luck.
silentman Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 Damn, lots of sweet gear being dumped round here. This guitar is amazing. This coming from a guy that hates p90s, fat necks, and guitars with no neck pickups. Wish I had some scratch to get this one. I've played it and its got "it".

BCR Greg Posted September 4, 2007 Author Posted September 4, 2007 Not the deal of the century, but very damn close.
