Why does that look familiar???

:P! I think I can still see grubby Poe prints on it if I look closely!

Great guitar. It is not a set neck, it is a neck through. You can see from the pic of the butt end that they used a thin piece of Mahog to cover the maple for aesthetic purposes only. I was the second owner of that guitar. The original owner worked for Drum City Guitar Land and had this guitar custom made. I have never seen another Jackson like this one. It IS a neck through, but if you look at the back of the guitar you can't see any maple. They laid the neck into the body and left mahog on the back and the end so that the guitar didn't have that big ugly strip of maple down the center and on the butt. Again, this was speced out for aesthetic purposes only, the guitar is a neck through in all other respects.

This guitar is also way more versatile than one would expect.

Here are the pics I had of the guitar when it was at my house. I would also like to add that the original owner wanted this guitar to be a Les Paul/Soloist hybrid. He intentionally left the Floyd un-recessed which made Jackson tilt the neck back like Gibson does on the LP. The guitar feels great and plays fantastic. I am stunned that this guy hasn't found a permanent home yet. Also..note the frets *over* the binding. IIRC that is serious upcharge from the Jackson Custom Shop. To have this guitar made today would probably cost you a fortune.

Thanks for the information Poe; I'll have to updat my eBay listing. Sorry to mislead anyone thinking about bidding!

This is definitely an awesome guitar; one of the best-playing and sounding shredders I've ever had, but I play my Studio more, so I've decided I want my shredder guitar to be my one "fun" guitar I don't have to baby at all and the Jackson is too expensive and pretty to fit the bill :P

That guitar has too many cool features. Love the H/S setup (very rare for a Soloist), the color and the quilt, matching head and especially the airbrushed "shadowing" on the MOP logo to give it more of the old skool Jackson decal logo.

Are the EMGs stock? Somebody had to cut the tongue off the single to mount it in that rout pattern. Whether it was Jackson or EMG who modified the pickup, that was not cheap by a long stretch.

This guitar, if ordered right now, would take at least a year to deliver (closer to two) and would literally cost a FORTUNE. I'd hit it if I didn't value my marriage so much.

The EMGs were original to the guitar. Also, I will look for the pic I have of the guitar from the side so you can see the tilt of the neck. Atquinn, you might want to take a pic of the tilt and post it in the auction. I will send you mine if I can find it, but you might want your own.

Huh? EMG singlecoils don't have tabs on them (not now anyway), did they back in '93? At any rate, you're right Poe, I should take a sideways view of the neck/body joint, and I need to get a full back shot up as well, both of which I'll do tonight when I get home.

Great guitar in every way!! I only sold it only because the neck was too thin for me. It has the Speed Neck option on it.

Jack

Strange, it seems thicker than the necks of a couple recent regular Soloists I (briefly) owned.

Wow, my 2006 CS Soloist neck is a good bit thicker and I didn`t spec ut that way, just asked for the current Soloist neck profile. All the current ones I have played since 2002 has much thicker necks than the 1993 CS. Well, since they are hand sanded, it can go either way!!
