TNC2 Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 boys n girls that is a killer deal...8 strings are EXTRA hard to find these days...plus she's got a skinny headstock and a stadium logo!Im almost tempted to trad one of my 12s for it!t
Thundernotes Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 Nice bass - nice price too! Welcome to the HFC, by the way. We can always use more chicks around here!
cmatthes Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 Gang - Lisa is killer to deal with. I bought the matching B-12s from her a while ago and that was one of the smoovest deals evah. Highly recommend it, and if I had something to trade or some loose cash, I'd be all over this one too. (Anybody want a 1977 Fender converted to Fretless maple neck /silver sparkle P-bass?!)

marcnorth Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 If I had the cash to spare it would be mine.
tomteriffic Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Am I asleep at the switch or is there a price anywhere in the thread?MER is oohing and aahing at this. She's been interested in bass but short-scale is about the only thing that works for her.

BABY Simone Posted September 28, 2007 Author Posted September 28, 2007 Nice bass - nice price too! Welcome to the HFC, by the way. We can always use more chicks around here! Thanks guys! Hey, yes, I'm working with a guy here on a cash + trade for my Trace Elliot amp for the B12s- which is what our lovely cmatthes refers to. The 12 is what originally got me HOOKED on Hamer (sounded great live with hubby's Chap) and alas, I sure wish I didn't have to sell a guitar in order to buy a new one; I'd love to keep both, although I know the 12 will be my mainstay. Still, I wanna be one of these people that just collects Hamers....letting 'em pile up. Ah yes, to me that 'tis the life I dream of one day. Until then though, it went up on ebay this morning. $950 OBO auction # is: 220154791736
polara Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 I just bought it. Yeah, a heck of an impulse purchase but if for some reason I'm ever in desperate economic times, I'll let ya'll have at it first! I'm in a band now with no bassist so I think being able to switch off between guitar and 8er might be good. Also I miss my old B12S!
marcnorth Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Cool score. Wish I would have had the cash, I would have bought it yesterday.

Thundernotes Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 I hear good things about the Waterstone basses at far less money.
cmatthes Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 Look at the newer Waterstones only if you're looking. The boards on the original ones are REALLY REALLY wide. Unless you have huge hands, they may not be for you. I have big hands and still found them nearly unplayable. The more recent ones I've played seemed to have taken care of that problem a bit.
