alpep Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 4-10 guitar cab with 4 gold back 30 watt marshall celestion speakers. you get the cover too! I would prefer local pickup but would consider shippiong it if I can find a big enough box and enough bubble wrap $350 or interesting trades contact me at alpep@lostartvintage.com
crunchee Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 I like these cabs, although I prefer the 1965B (the top on a 1965A is just too narrow to put anything on top of it)-it beats schlepping around a Super Reverb! They're actually really lightweight and have a birch ply cab (no particle board-well, except maybe the baffle). My cabs have G-10-35 Celestions-are these original speakers?
alpep Posted December 4, 2007 Author Posted December 4, 2007 you are right about the cabinet being light weight. the problem is the size will make it ship at 70lbs
silentman Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 I used to have a pair of them. They were mates to the artist 2203.
MCChris Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 I used to have a pair of them. They were mates to the artist 2203.I had a 2x12 version in the same size. The 4x10 sounds much better IMO.
HamerHokie Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 What's the intel on those speakers? How do they compare to greenbacks and other speakers of the day?
alpep Posted December 4, 2007 Author Posted December 4, 2007 can;t really tell you the difference. this cab will give you the marshall crunch.I got the cab years ago, it had no speakers in it and I used it for an experiment gone bad. I first tried 2 hartke speakers and 2 ev's and it felt like you were listening to a police siren. so I substituted 2 JBL's for the hartke's and it was better but still way too efficient and needed way too much power to break up. it was great clean but I could not find a distortion pedal to use that worked well with that combination of speakers. if I was playing jazz all night it would have been great. and of course you needed a truss to lift itso about a year ago I picked up these celestions and reloaded the cab. back to marshall sound. I have an EH 4 x 10 cab that I bought and never loaded so I decided to let this one go. the EH cab has no tolex and is great for a studio situation which seems to be my thing these days.LOL all that and I did not even answer your question.
LordOfTheThighs Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 If ya look behind the Hamers, you'll see my Marshall 4X10 with the Mesa Single Rec on top of it, in the MAN-CAVE . I've got the matching bottom cab somewhere around here. I've had them for about 10 or 11 years. They sound pretty decent.
