kizanski Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Auctions, technically, but there is some Fire!A Gibson Firebird I to be more precise!I bought this guitar brand new and took it out of the case only when there was a full moon in months that have an R in them. How's about the cleanest, newest condition Hamer Mirage you've ever seen? This came to me by way of the Commodore, but before that, it was the Admiral's. It's truly like a brand new 1996 Hamer. Possibly the one Hamer from that period that has absolutely NO Hameritis. And for good measure, a Robin Ranger Standard with several extra cost options. This also came to me by way of "Meshuggah" James. He custom ordered the guitar and sacrificed it to the Gas Gods, as I now will as well.Feel free to email me any questions.

Pieman Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 Is there a reason why the Mirage has not been played much? It is a beauty, that's for sure.
kizanski Posted December 13, 2007 Author Posted December 13, 2007 Is there a reason why the Mirage has not been played much? It is a beauty, that's for sure.If you're asking in anice way if it is a dud, the answer is no.I have only owned it for a few weeks. I have my sights set on something, so it's going to go before I get attached to it.Before that it was owned by two guys (that I know of) who have a bunch of guitars. The Admiral had at least 6 of these at one time, so it doesn't surprise me that it didn't get played a lot.I could own it another ten years and it still probably would never show it. I can't bring myself to play anything this new looking anymore. I'm too much of a klutz and it bothers me to know that "the next ding I put on this guitar will be its first."
AdmiralB Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 Is there a reason why the Mirage has not been played much? It is a beauty, that's for sure.Kiz is right, I had six of them. That one was the most recent acquisition, I bought it probably four months before I divested all my Hamers. It's a great guitar...of the four maple-tops I owned, I liked it best. It had the most Les Paul-like vibe of all of them.
Pieman Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 It is a beauty, for sure. I was not asking if it is a dud. I just gave away another guitar for a fundraiser (the third time I have done that), not counting the '70s Les Paul Deluxe goldtop I gave my son for coming back from Iraq in one piece. Still, I am beginning to ask how many guitars do I need to have.

Cheers!
