Shame about the refin, but at least they kept the logo intact!

Yeah, that is pretty cool. I can honestly say that I have never seen a lefty Cruise before.

I wonder how easily that ridiculous finish can be removed. It would be nice if that were just shot

over the original color, then maybe it could be restored without too much of a headache.

I don't think that would be too tough to redo.

Plenty of qualified finish guys that post here and out there in the rest of the world!

Hamerman has a lefty cruise 5 string thats really nice, he might chime in here.

That is too bad about the refinish.

My cruise still has the original finish but it's a second generation 2TEK. I haven't seen any others (2TEK or not) but I imagine they must be out there. I think the owners know a good thing when they see it.

There are definitely at least a few lefty SS1's floating around.

I’m the dummy who bought that. The finish was ‘textured rock’ and worked great - if your left forearm needed serious dermabrasion. Apparently the bass had not been touched in years as evidenced by the dust and grime. No evidence of inked serial number on back of neck but pots dated to early 1982. So after sanding off the ‘textured rock’ it appears the original finish was baby blue (NOT Carolina Blue) and revealed the pickguard mounting holes. Refinished with Stewart-MacDonald cherry mahogany and multiple lacquer clear coats. Imaged a right handed pickguard, reversed, scaled to fit, and cut a three-ply. Added left handed ‘Studio’ truss cover and Viola! – after 26 years of searching I have a left handed Cruisebass.
