CORRECTION: Any tele style Hamers, I guess T-51, T-62 etc. Whatever they're called.

Thanks.

Hey eightyfour,

You're looking for a Hamer USA TLE or a T-51 guitar, right? That's the guitars with the Telecaster shaped bodies. A T-62 is the strat shaped body with 3 single coil pickups, a single volume knob and an EQ switch. I posted a couple of pictures of my '97 T-51. Is this what you're looking for?

TLE (1986 - 1992) - Single cutaway mahogany body usually with a flat maple top and a 24-fret glued-in neck (24.75 inch scale). The basic guitar has a Hamer six-on-a-side peghead, rosewood fingerboard and dot inlays. The Custom has a bound body, ebony fingerboard, boomerang inlays and a steeply angled peghead. Hardware on most guitars consist of a Floyd Rose trem. or Sustain-block bridge and humbucker/two single coil pickups (Hamer Slammer or OBL). The most recent guitars have a thicker contoured maple top (body usually unbound).

T51 (1993 - 1997) - Single cutaway slab body (Telecaster style) of southern ash with a 22-fret bolt-on maple neck (25.5 inch scale length) with black dot markers. Hardware includes two Seymour Duncan single coil pickups (one mounted on the scratchplate) and Wilkinson HT100 bridge. Also available with a piezo-electric Fishman Power Bridge.

T62 (1991 -1995) - Similar styling to the Daytona but has a smaller body and a birds-eye maple neck with Pau Ferro fingerboard; fitted with an ABM roller-saddle non-locking trem. and a three-band active EQ.

Hey Guitar George - ever think about selling your T-51? C'mon - you don't really need it, do you?

I've been looking for one for a while, but haven't had any luck.

Any ideas where I can get one?

EightyFour: I have this one for sale-$450 + shipping. If you are interested, email me at Hamstd@aol.com

Thanks

Peter.

Hello Bluesking,

I just got that '97 T-51 off of E-bay a few weeks ago. I had to buy the OHSC from another HFC member since it came with a gig bag. It took me six months to find one like that. I was almost going to buy one back in November 2004, but bought a Chapparal Elite 90 in December 2004. Then Teleman sold a T-51 with a rosewood fingerboard with Nashville Tele mods on it and someone bought that one too. I tried to buy that one, but I didn't move fast enough. Bluesking , I feel ya about the frustrations on finding the killer Hamer USA T-51 guitars. Keep looking on the For Sale, Trade, or Pay It Forward messageboard on the HFC, E-bay or Craig's List. Someone out there will sell the T-51 you're looking for. I waited and found one for a good price. Good luck on your search, my friend.

Hey HamStd,

That is a very cool stock Hamer USA TLE guitar you have for sale. Whoever gets that one is going to be very happy especially for the price.

Hello eightyfour,

I saw your posting. I was trying to help you figure out what kind of guitar you were describing. That's a Hamer USA T-51 guitar. They're kind of hard to find and were only made by Hamer USA for about 4 years between 1993 to 1997. I apologize for doing guitar torture, promoting G.A.S., etc. I get that all the time when I come on this messageboard and see everybody else's cool Hamer USA custom order guitars. Sorry guys, my '97 T-51 is not for sale!!

Hamstd's guitar for sale is a TLE and a very cool guitar to boot. His price is very reasonable and would make a nice guitar for someone's guitar collection.

Eightyfour: I don' t know if you saw this one that popped up on ebay. But it might be more of what you were looking for in a T51???

Question for my future reference - what are the scale lengths of the T-51 and the TLE?

I'm just curious if these are true Telecaster clones (with the Fender scale length) or lookalikes...
