hamerhead Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Good deal? My bass player - who want's a 5 string - won't buy this because 'it's ugly', and 'I want a new one'. He'll spend more on a new Schecter and get half the bass. What a tool. And I'm still wondering what the hell he'll do with another string.............
tomteriffic Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 That's a 2-Tek bridge on there, worth about half the asking price of the guitar. 5 string 2-Tek Cruises are pretty damn rare.
MCChris Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 That is SOOO NOT ugly!Agreed. Very nice bass. Although it appears that the owner's a bit of a rube (look at how the G string is strung) so there could be cause for concern. Same goes for his use of puffery in the description (while this is technically true, it's puffery nonetheless):( Hamers specialty was bass guitars way before they ever got well Known for eletric guitars )
blackfbiv Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 That is SOOO NOT ugly! Well... technically it is. (Esp. if you're like me and not into Tobacco SB and the ilk) I'd call that a 'farmer bass'... Still I know it would sound great etc. There's no accounting for taste, y'know?

Punkavenger Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 it will be cool if you pick it up ... my new cruise is just killing me (in a good way)

velorush Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 I've exchanged a few emails with the seller. As far as he'll allow me to know, it is a '95 (he wouldn't give me the whole serial number, though he said he wasn't sure why, but said the first digit was 5). I asked if he would be comfortable shipping and how he'd like to receive payment and haven't heard back from him since... Guess I'll look elsewhere... I'd rather keep using the 'I can't find a decent bass' excuse, anyway, so that I can continue playing guitar!
