Citrus Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 Saw this one @ Chris guitars - no affiliationI didn't know that they made that combination. The truss rod cove looks like something from the import line....http://www.chrisguitars.com/hamer96studio-...urstarchtop.jpg
atquinn Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 You can always custom order them with a bellycut, so it's not surprising that there's one out there. Not a fan of the gold hardware, but that's a nice finish.-Austin
burningyen Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 Yeah, they probably took the TRC off an import.
MCChris Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 I just sold this one, which had the tuna/tummycut combo (custom ordered that way, I believe):
Citrus Posted November 26, 2008 Author Posted November 26, 2008 didn't realize that had the belly cutI guess those are a little more rare.Wonder what the upcharge for that is??
hamerican gigolo Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 My '95 Studio has a TOM,gold hardware,& a belly cut.
mattb Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 NIce looking guitar, but I'm with Austin on the gold hardware thing.
DEMENTED Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 The color is sweet though, I'd toss the gold too.
hamerjunkie Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Somebody needs to buy this before I talk myself into an early "to me from me" Christmas gift........
crunchee Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 I seem to remember that Studios pretty much all had belly cuts, back around '94-'95, when they had Wilkinson 'wrap around' bridges, too--perhaps not all did, but in that time period it seems that most did. Hamer went back to flat backs and TOMs for Studios (they had them before '94, too, of course) after that.I don't like belly cuts on the Hamer USA Studios (or any similar LP style Hamer, for that matter). On a Strat or a Strat-style guitar it looks like it belongs. On a Studio, it doesn't, to me at least. I once had a '94 Studio with the Wilkinson bridge as well as the belly cut, it just didn't seem right to me. I guess I like 'em traditional!
Russ Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 I've purchased a few guitars through chrisguitars, and he is a good guy, if you can get a hold of him. I personally have no interest in this one (I hit 15 guitars, 5 of which are Hamers, early this month, and have to officially call it quits...well...until the next "can't resist" offer rolls around)
