bmenary Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 I am amazed no one is interested in these- I am open to offers guys.....
bulletbob Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 I am amazed no one is interested in these- I am open to offers guys..... Everyone is going through this,,, Check my post.. I have tons of vintage and high end USA guitars and amps that people used to go crazy over.. Now I can't get a reply no matter how low a price I ask...Its TOUGH to sell right now... Everyone is selling, NO one is buying.. To sell anything you have to sell at a pretty big loss right now...gonna be this way for a while too... Trading gear may be a better way to go these days.. Thats what I am going to try doing... bob
seeker Posted December 14, 2008 Posted December 14, 2008 I am amazed no one is interested in these- I am open to offers guys.....Yeah, the market is a bit slow. But also, historically speaking, the last week in Nov thru most of Dec is the worst time to sell. Everyone is hitting the stores for christmas/holiday gifts. But it is a great time to buy. So folks, if you've ever wanted one of these sweet thangs, now's the time!
bubs_42 Posted December 14, 2008 Posted December 14, 2008 Buyers just aren't willing to pay top dollar right now. Everyone's looking for a deal.
Turdus Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 I think any guitar, over a grand, is a tougher sell regardless of the economy. 6 to 7 years ago, I bought a Sunburst for $700, and another at $850. With the economy in worse shape today, wouldn't it be reasonable for me to think I could find one today in that price range?

A dot neck Sunburst in decent condition is still a $1k guitar, even in these times... although you never know how low this market is going to go.
Siaip Ciuvas Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 Barry - crowned one kills me, but I don't want to insult you with an offer of how much I have at hands... Uncertainty makes people hide cash under the pillow. Lets hope it won't last long, as HUGE part of economy is based on trust in the future

Siaip Ciuvas Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 ummmm... Don't want to sound negative, but as an economist (technically one semester away from diploma, but economics is my lifetime hobby so to say) I should warn that recovery is nowhere near next year Simply too much money where printed, now it will take some time prices to adjust to the money mass created (and of course to realize who lost how much in financial scams). And USA looks like will run money printing machine with double speed next year.

And USA looks like will run money printing machine with double speed next year. I agree that 2009 might be as crappy as 2008, for different reasons, I won't go into that here, though. There are PLENTY of 'experts' on Wall Street who got their ass handed to them as a hat based on what they recommended in the last year or two, on what they thought was right. And a lot of working stiffs got burned for it (I'm a working stiff, but thankfully I'm burn free so far, I'm too damned broke to invest in anything beyond guitars, anyway). We are in uncharted territory here. That being said, I don't plan to be writing ANY checks to ANY music stores for ANY gear ANYtime soon.
